Q:safe to use for a chair swing?

    Answer This Question

A:  Hi jg! don't see why not, used it to band the legs of a 16' Coleman pool. Just tie good knots and secure to something smooth to prevent chafing. It's been holding up to sunlight and wet > couple of years now with no signs of rotting or fraying. I got the black version. Have an awesome summer!

    by|May 27, 2020

A:  You can, it just stretches and for something permanent like that, you may want polyester

    by|May 23, 2021

A:  Yes, The rope has a max weight capacity on it when you buy it. I believe that it was a little over 300 lbs

    by|Jul 1, 2020

A:  Yes, it does have a weight rating of up to 300lbs. Love it for the Grandkids

    by|Jul 30, 2020

A:  We do not recommend using this product for overhead lifting, support of human weight or athletic equipment or other situations where personal safety or valuable property can be endangered.

      by|May 27, 2020

A:  Yes. I used this rope to secure me in a hardness as I put a metal roof on my home. It secured my safety. I see no issues in using this rope as it exceeds the weight limit of any swing and person that would use product.

        Q:Is it conductive to electricity?

        Answer This Question

        A:  No

        by|Apr 5, 2019

A:  Almost anything will conduct electricity if the voltage is high enough. Moisture and dirt in the rope can add to the conductivity. However, this rope would be considered an OK choice if you are working around utility wires.

Pretty good rope, it is very light and durable. It also holds knots well. I used it to hang a tree swing. The only downsides to polypropelyne rope is that it degrades faster in UV light than other ropes and it has a bit of a stretch. When I hung the swing, I hung it high as the rope stretches a bit when weight is applied. Weight limit is 310 lbs but knots weaken it. I do not swing with my kids on it. I trust it for 50 or 60 lbs on a swing. I will probably replace it once a year or use polyester rope next year. This rope is made in China.

When I first broke this rope and saw it was like paper shop towels inside I thought it was bogus. But I have been using it for a few year and have decided it is good, just what it says, 310lb. limit. I would not use it for overhead lifting, or wire pulling, or guiding a tree when falling. But I use it to drag braches and know if I get hung up on something the rope will just break. And not crash my quad or break something in my driveline. Like a circuit breaker. So be careful it is cheap rope, but that's why it's $15.

Used it to tie down the tarp over my trailer. Drove from TX to CA and the rope held and stayed right, only had to adjust one time, I expected to have to adjust at least 3 times.

So-so rope, depending on what you need it for
The biggest problem with this rope is that if you cut it, the core often times shrinks (even if you burn or lash the ends). After a few uses, this leaves you with the last foot or so of the rope that is nothing but the sheath, which makes it almost unusable. If this isn't an issue for you, this is probably a good value. I've purchased 5 or 6 of these and it's happened enough where I won't buy it anymore.

                    Very Sturdy
I purchased this for an emergency to hold down my gazebo since where we live is windy. We tied it to a bag of cement and to the legs of the gazebo and it is holding up well! I bought the black rope, black bags of cement from Home Depot and it looks like it was designed that way. Very sturdy!
