A: Home depot shows info on this product. It specifically states NOT to use for overhead applications. So dont use to hang a fan. In the electrical department they have a purpose made ceiling fan brace or bracket. Always check the manufacturer’s recommended use for the product before using. Good luck!

A: The diameter of the bow in the center is 9/16". The mounting holes are countersunk. The taper starts at 5/16" and goes down to 3/16". I drilled them out no problem to 1/4" for my application.
