I really didn't need a splice bracket for the 8 foot Everbilt Galvanized Box Rail that I ordered, but it was the same size as the plain wall mounting bracket. It includes a bolt that clamps down on the box rail so that the box rail can't slide in the brackets. It also has a large hole in the top that allows a good sized bolt to be used to mount it to the wal. I figured it would work fine as a second mounting point for the box rail in my model railroad room.
