Q:Would this work well to hold a stacked washer/dryer door from swinging closed when you're emptying the top unit?

Answer This Question

A:  Hello, it is dependent on how heavy your door is. There is a good possibility this catch would work for a door without the heavy metal/glass. You may need to use double stick tape to secure the magnet to the door. Please provide feedback if this works for you!

Q:how near to the magnet have to be to the cabinet door to catch? I have installed a soft closure mechanism to the cabinet door and the door is not heavy enough to press against the piston to close completely it sits 2 inches away..and i am hoping that by installing a magnet the door will be pulled closed.

No more kitchen cabinet doors popping open at will
I've bought Everbilt magnetic catches in the past and they work great! I had a kitchen cupboard door that, when I moved in, was missing the catch part of the magnetic door latch. It was a no-brainer for me to get this brand new high rise magnetic catch to fix my kitchen cupboard door so it stays closed when not in use. The white color matched my kitchen cabinets that were painted white, so it blended right in. I like how beefy it looks, with all the metal contacts, making sure door-closing happens every time the cupboard door is closed. Install was super easy – just line up where you want the catch and plate, pre-drill the holes for the screws, then screw them in. Say goodbye to kitchen cabinet doors popping open at will!

Better Magnetic Catch with More Magnetic Surface
The Everbilt High Rise Magnetic Catch, White, is a good solution for a cabinet door that has a larger than usual gap. The larger dimensions of the magnetic surface allows more of a margin for error and mitigates unusual gaps. The metal catch plate has one screw to fasten it to the frame or door and each corner has a point to grab the surface to prevent turning when installed. The magnets are sufficiently strong to provide a solid closure.

Very Strong Magnet and does the Job
I’ve been needing to get a cabinet door magnet to keep one of my larger slide out cabinet drawers closed. It just didn’t want to stay closed as was always just a little open and when I would close it, it wouldn’t stay closed. I found this Everbilt High Rise Magnetic Catch. This White High Rise Heavy Duty Double Magnetic Catch with Strike is a very strong magnet and now keeps this drawer/door closed.

    Great Magnetic Catches~Very Strong Magnets
I got this magnetic cabinet catch to replace some old cabinet catches that are no longer holding like they should. It comes with everything you need. The magnet part gets placed on the non movable part of the cabinet and the metal plate gets screwed to the door. They should be placed where they will not get in the way of anything else. The magnetic base has slotted screw holes so it can be adjusted in case you need to fine tune the placement and it all works together. Once installed it should last for many many years. All together it's a very well made unit with a very strong magnet.

Strong closure, drop in replacement for old style catch
Used this as a direct drop in replacement for old style roller and spring catch. Needed strong closure since old door is slightly warped and this worked fine. As pictures demonstrate I was able to use the existing screw holes which made installation trivial. The two dimples on the metal plate ensure that it does not rotate. Unit has two magnets to provide the needed strength.

Compact but gives extra holding strength
This is a pretty good magnetic catch, primarily useful for cabinet doors but I have successfully used these for full-size door catches with good results. Note that the holding strength is much stronger than the smaller model Everbilt carries. These are taller to accommodate the extra magnet. Easy enough to install. Metal plate has small prongs on the corners to prevent misalignment.

    Very strong hold
I have a cat that delights on opening my kitchen cabinet doors and watching them slam shut. I have tried other door magnets but their hold was too weak. Obviously I have a strong cat! This Everbilt high rise magnetic catch is perfect. The hold is super strong. It takes a good tug on the door to open it. It is easy to install with just a screwdriver. The screw slots on the magnet itself allows for depth adjustment.

    Powerful and easy to install
This is a fantastic easy to install and very strong striker and catch and it’s complete with mounting screws. The striker plate has a round nub on each side of the screw hole, this are to be placed towards the surface you are screwing it into with the flat headed screw. The white catch is a decent large size and very powerful. It has an oval shaped screw hole on each side to make installation and adjustment a breeze. I highly recommend this magnetic catch set.

Great way to keep cabinet closed
This is a simple piece of hardware that holds the door closed by the magnet. It comes with the small screws needed to attach it to the door and the base of the inside of the cabinet. It is taller than most door latch pieces so it is good for doors that don’t line up perfectly. This is a great way to keep kids from getting into a cabinet that contains things that could hurt them.
