i have not used mine yet . the screen has tiny holes but to be safe i would set it out from under things. if it were me i would not set it directly under a tree . its always best to have a good clearance around a fire . do not use it in windy conditions unless you have a fire break covering the side the wind is coming from., and by all means do not have the wind break setting to close to the fire pit. use your common sense and you will be fine. remember its better to be safe than sorry. there is no reason why this shouldn't work just fine . remember small fire not a rip roaring monster. hope this helped and didn't scare you off. we have had years of practice. we always lived in the country , lots of trees . Common Sense is the key . if you live in town the fire station could give you very good advice they may be willing to come to your place to get a good site for the safest for your situation. enjoy the new pit. many pits in use with no problem
Wood fires can burn over 800°F, so you need something to insulate against the heat or you will damage the PVC / vinyl exterior of any composite decking. The folks at DeckProtect.net make many different sizes of octagon-shaped (or custom-sized) thermal barriers to keep the heat from damaging your deck.
no it is a fire pit / table / grill
i use it on my covered patio. remember small fire not a rip roaring monster. great all in one fire pit grill , table. stores all together with no need to hunt for parts. great all in one unit.
table its self is 0 7/8 " . 33" high with the screen
Yes. It needs to remain covered when not in use. I am already seeing sign ps of rust.
light weight yet sturdy and durable
Yes, you can convert this and any wood burning fire pit into a gas burning one very easily! Search EasyFirePits and look at their Gas Kits and Stainless Steel Burner Rings. Also a lot of tips, info, and Q&A about converting over to gas.
that includes the fire pit screen. the table is 20 7/8 "
everything is included with the kit from home depot . the picture shown with your question is the fire pit mode. if your not using the pit the screen goes under stores below and stores under the table top . the table top is then placed on top to use as a table. very nice looking great fire pit table combination that stores all together out of the way yet there to use either, without having to hunt for the pit or the table or the grill plate there in the whole pkg., together in one place .great set-up. i ordered mine from home depot.
