The Forney 250 AMP Spool Gun allows practically any MIG welder to weld aluminum. Designed for simplicity, reliability, and performance, this spool gun is suitable for both first time users and experienced professionals. The unit is lightweight, compact, and built with high quality ergonomics for ease of use. It comes standard with a 20 ft. all in one power and gas cable, providing an extra large working area. This spool gun is optimized to use TWECO style consumables and .035 in. wire, and it can also run wire diameters ranging from .030 in. to .045 in. It is capable of welding material thicknesses ranging from thin sheet metal to 1/2 in. thick plate. The Forney 250 AMP Spool Gun is compatible with Euro style Forney and Forney Pro MIG and Multi Process (MP) machines.

How thick aluminum can this weld
The Forney 250A spool gun can weld a variety of thicknesses from thin sheet metal to ½” thick plate and can run a variety of wire diameters from .030” to .047”. Thank you for your question!
Will this work on a esab migmaster 250?
The Migmaster 250 does have the necessary output footprint (a 7 pin amphenol connection and Euro connect), but without access to your machine, we do not know for sure that the machine has the proper wiring, or that it sends the proper voltage to the proper pins when the torch trigger is pulled. No, the 250 amp spoolgun requires a Euro connect, and amphenol equipped machine such as our 190 or 220 MP machines. Sadly it cannot be used for our 180ST. Thanks for your question.
