A:  You should go into Home Depot and check their water filters in the appliance area. I believe they are on back wall...not sure. Our filter was for a Samsung. One thing we found out over the years, buy the correct filter for your frig. Don't buy an off brand to save money because those filters can cause problems. If Home Depot doesn't have your make and model in the store, you may need to order one or go on GE web page and order directly from them. Spending a little extra money will cause less headaches. A:  We have had some good luck with comparable water filters but mostly back luck so we went back to GE brand because they always work well.

A:  I use mine on a GE refrigerator I purchased in 2009, so I don't know the answer to your question. I don't think my refrigerator is a "smartwater" refrigerator. Sorry.
