I have the same question. I would not have ordered if I knew it was only 220 lbs weight limit.
I had the same concern. It's extremely frustrating. I called Home Depot and asked them to correct this on their website. We will see if that happens!
My wife is 5' 6" and she says it limits her when she is pulling weeds, she also has a little bit of a........well attention problem. LOL. It works good if she stays in one spot for a while.

I just went and measured mine. I have mine in hole 2, there are 4, and mine is about 13 inches, 20 inches I don't think, probably more like 17 ish.
Granny Gardener, Honey, it might extend to 20". problem there, at full extension, the body rocks on the wing nut. Still too short to be practical. I'm in good shape and 56 years old but I'm being serious when I tell you that 15 minutes in this seat and I'd be ready for a crane to pick me up. knees under my chin, the thing rocks like a seasick crocodile and that's not from the rocker bottom it's from the wingnut adjustment.
I'm 69 and you had to adjust the height correctly. I've found mine through trial and error. If you don't have good leg strength, I would not recommend. And it can be a bit unstable.
Model GB1300. Vortex Rocker Rolling Seat for 40.00. I have one of each. I would say the one you are asking about is maybe one degree less sturdy than the rocker with wheels. When I use this one I tend to have to put my hands down on the ground for stability. I have mine at about 13 inches high so doable. Or grab a branch, something so it is not a big deal but the rocker one is alittle more stable. I use this one if I am sitting and repotting. I use the one with wheels if I am out in a garden moving around.
Just got mine. Ordered it without seeing it first. It's going back. Mom, who's 81, is not ever going to be able to use it as getting up off of this thing is like getting up off of a toadstool. Yes, it looks like a tractor seat on an inverted mushroom. It's lightweight but getting the wing nut to adjust to full height was nearly impossible and I suspect that it's not going to last 2 foggy mornings as the plastic isn't even outdoor kid's toy grade. It's a softer, flexible plastic that's not going to have any endurance in any sort of weather and the wing nut is likely going to be the first thing to go unless it rips the plastic from sitting on it first. Awful product. Terribly disappointed.
It may depend on how tall you are to be able to get down to it. I'm 68 years old and I am 5' tall. I've had this over eight years and use it almost daily, I have never had a problem getting on it or getting up from it or staying on it. The fact that it rocks is convenient because you can reach and it moves with you. It has never fallen out from under me which is what I thought it might do when I first got it, it's been a great back saver for me.
I don’t know, but I would think twice about buying it. It is very difficult to stay balanced while sitting on it.
It is not 4 inches, It is about 15 1/2 inches wide and then the short part is about 10 inches deep and the the two parts that go out -where your legs are is like 15 inches. It really is almost a circle with the indentation where you sit. The round part is where your back is so the legs go out and your core is the 10 inch part. I am 5 '6" and it is fine for me. There is a weight limit though of 220 and that is on an enclosed sheet that comes with it. So, even if you were say 5 10 but under that weight limit I think it would be okay.
Oh, and that's not the only inaccuracy in the description. I'm sending mine back. I'd have better results with one of those kid's plastic car toys.
The seat fits me. I am a male weighing over 200 pounds! The seat is much larger than 4x4 inches
The Garden Rocker Vertex Seat weighs 7.2 pounds.
It's very light, but I'm not sure exactly how much it ways.
It weighs about 20 ounces.
The Rocker seat is very light weight. My guess is under 3 lbs. I do all my gardening with this. I have a cushion for mine with a carry strap. I can carry the seat and several tools in one hand.
