Product Overview
The Marshall mailbox keeps your mail secure behind durable, galvanized steel constructed walls. This large, locking mailbox restricts access to delivered mail within a concealed locking compartment. To prevent theft and vandalism, the Marshall features a sturdy cam lock with two keys for access to mail. The delivery mail slot measures at 1.75" tall and 10" wide to allow deposits of letters, magazines and newspapers. A mail clip is fastened to the interior door and is designed for placing outgoing mail deliveries. In addition, a magnetic closure keeps the door securely in place when not in use. The Marshall comes fully assembled and is compatible with most mailbox posts. Match with any Gibraltar Mailboxes post with the designation letter code C to ensure compatibility. Mounting hardware and post are sold separately.

I’ve had this mailbox for less than a year. It quickly started making popping noise when being closed. Didn’t think much of it. Then one hinge broke on door. Fixed it with a zip tie for a quick fix. 2 weeks later the other one breaks. Don’t waste your money, this is a stupid problem

Hi there. Thanks for your review. The United States Postal Service determines and issues standards that must be met for rural and post mount mailboxes. One of these requirements is that all locking designs must have a minimum opening of 1.75 in. by 10 in to allow adequate space for mail to be delivered, but would be difficult for most adults to reach inside of.

I installed this mailbox and within 2 months one of the rivets broke off of the door. I took this back in exchange for same model assuming just a bad assembly. Within 3 months, left side rivet broke off again. I replaced with a bolt/lock-nut. 2 months later, right side rivet broke off, which I again replaced with bolt/lock-nut. HD Please pull this from your shelf. From this and other reviews, this is a cheap manufacture of a not so cheap mailbox. I've spent way too much time working on a mailbox that by all means should just last!

I just bought this. The mailbox arrived less than a month ago, it was installed and in use and the door has broken already. The small black thing that hinges the door to the box came out and the tab it was placed in is bent. I'm extremely dissatisfied with this. I mean the lock is great, but without a door it's a lot less secure.

The hinge area could be stronger, internal locking area is nice. I have 3 of this brand & style mail boxes on a building I own and other than weak hinge design the design is good. After a few years I rebuild the hinge with bolts & nuts in place of the rivets that come from the factory.

This is rather a large mail box. It has a locking feature which prevents unauthorized people to reach in and take your mail and perhaps steal your identity. Clever design. The design allows mail man to drop your mail in the mail box through a slot (see photos). You will need to open this mailbox with a key to reach in and get your mail. It comes with two keys.
Installation should be pretty easy. If you live in the area where vandalism is frequent then you will certainly benefit by this product. Not sure if it comes in a smaller size.

It is big, black, sturdy heavy metal construction with a locking compartment, The door has a clip inside to hold outgoing mail to be picked up. It has a nice big red flag to let the post person know you have mail to be taken. It comes with two keys that unlock a door that accesses the bottom area of the box for you to get the mail. The slot for mail entering is a little large but it would be a task to get a hand in to remove mail. just large enough for thin bubble wrapped packages. I cut a board the size of the bottom of the box and mounted it to our existing post then attached the box to the board. Very sturdy and secure.

MAIL IS NOT SECURE!!
I live in a rural setting and losing mail to thieves has been an on going problem. I was looking forward to the relief of having my mail secured. Unfortunately this box will not be able to do that for me! I've attached a video that shows my adult son reaching into the box through the slot - he was able to easily retrieve the mail when it was in the locked position. In order for it to be secure, the slot would need to be about 2/3rd's of its current size.
The box was shipped to my house, the packaging was great and in tact... but there was paint damage to the handle where it bends. I don't think the damage was due to shipping. The paint is cracked and would obviously chip off if I touched it. You can see in the photo that the manufacturIe knew there was a problem with this - they attached the cardboard under the loop to try and fix the issue - but it still came damaged.
Overall... it's a beautiful mailbox. It looks well made but since my main goal was mail security I've had to rate this item low and will not be installing it at my home.
