DIY projects should be satisfying, not frustrating. Our Complete Window Film Application Kit contains the items to help with exactly that. This kit contains a generously sized bottle of application solution, a plastic hard card squeegee to smooth bubbles, a low-lint cloth to whisk away debris without leaving more behind and a trimming tool made for safety and accuracy.

Works with any residential window film: created for better results, whether you're working with longer lasting adhesive film or reusable static cling film
Ready-to use solution: packaged in a 16 oz. spray-trigger bottle, our ready-to-use solution is great for preparing the glass prior to film installation and helps with application of the film to the glass
Includes a low-lint cloth: reduce the hidden particles and debris before you install the film
Easy-to-use film trimming tool: self-spacing and provides the recommended 1/16 in. spacing along the edges of the window

Q:Can I use soapy water on window for vinyl to cling? Or is window cleaner okay to use instead? Or lemon water - can it also be used? I can't get to Home Depot today and helper coming by to install, so I need to use one of these things.

Q:Can this be put on the outside of a storm door? I'm afraid my 3 dogs will shred it if I put it in the inside.

A: I believe so. In fact, the instructions state that if the window (glass) has multiple layers, to install on the outside surface.

A: It will stick to either side of a window - greater temperature fluctuations will affect it from outdoors though- I have no way of knowing how that would affect the seal (could loosen and come off?) - it gets sealed very tightly to the window so I’m not sure your dogs could shred it -

Gila window film

2 times i bought the product. First time it had been bent 3 times damaging the film. 2nd time it started ok but after-almost- 1 window the film started having 3 lines through it. 1rst time home depot were fantastic. 2nd time i have returned it yet. I feel home depot should follow up on there supplier before there reputation is damaged for $100. Home depot i will continue to shop. GILA window film.- never again

Still doesn't apply easily

I have a 44"x49" picture window in my bathroom. My husband and I meticulously followed the directions and purchased the installation kit and the frosted film looks awful. I'm pretty crafty and patient with this sort of thing, but there are a ton of bubbles that will not squeegee out, the film tore at one edge, the corners wont stay down. I will be removing and trying the $7 Rustoleum spray frosting. Wish I had seen that option before spending a total of about $50 on the film + install kit.

Home window tint

Great product and very easy to use if directions are followed. For bigger windows I would recommend 2 people, so you don't have any chances for kinks in the film

Put the film up on the sidelight and it was easier than most of the reviews said. The directions to do so could be much more clear, but I figured it out and am pleased. Buy this installation kit to make it easier.
