Hampton Bay UL Wet Location approved string light set is designed for indoor and outdoor use, with sockets that are designed to create a waterproof seal around bulb bases. Each set consist of a 48 ft. black heavy-duty 16/3 SJTW Cord, 24 sockets spaced 2 ft. apart and thirty six 11-Watt incandescent bulbs (12 extra). The set can be used as a single strand or you can connect up to 5 sets (of 11-Watt bulbs) to create an overhead illuminated canopy. Sockets hang approximately 4 in. from the cord and are also compatible with CFL or LED bulbs. These are ideal for patios, porches, walkways, restaurants and anywhere decorative and accent light is desired. When using just a single strand, up to a 60-Watt bulb can be used for brighter illumination.

Can i use LED Bulbs as a relacement with this string?

The string came with incandescent, but want to know if i can use LED bulbs.

I see no reason why you could not use LED bulbs. Remember to select the proper wattage and Kelvin rating for the bulbs to get your desired effect.

No they are not dimmable as purchased. Not sure if a separate dimmer switch would work, that's good question for an electrician. Excellent product though, we love them.

Where I can get hooks for them ?

Insulated screw in hooks for a fence or the or gazebo are available at most hardware stores. The reason for insulated hooks are because they're dipped in rubber.

Can a 48ft string be hung from each end in order to span a courtyard, or must the string be further supported in the middle of the run?

You will likely want a support in the center, but it is not necessary. For me I used stainless wire that was tightened between two anchor points. I then attached the light cord to the stainless wire by using plastic wire zip ties

The set is about $10.00 to high based on the cost of others. The quality of the set is very good, cord to sockets are tight. I have 3 other sets from last year and they still look new. I purchased three sets of lights to completely surround my patio pool area and the lights make the entire area a small wonderland. Couldn't be more pleased.

I have only burned out two bulbs. I am highly impressed with the quality. I would recommend hanging these from a wire instead of hanging them just by the actual hoops above the bulbs.
