Q:Hello. I am looking at the unfinished paint grade Shaker slab drawer front. Is it simply a piece of solid wood lumber cut to size, or is there something more to it? Thank you.
      by|Nov 26, 2023
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  Hi, thank you for your question. The Shaker slab drawer front has square edges and is sanded so with minimal touch up sanding it’s ready for finishing. Best Regards, Hampton Bay Customer Care

          Not ideal for drawer face
2 issues. I ordered the shaker style drawer face. The shaker style I ordered does not match the shaker style sold in store. The sides are almost twice as wide as the top and bottom. The other issue is that typically a drawer face mount flush to the surface of a drawer. There is a gap where the recessed insert was attached so when I add a drawer pull it will indent the middle of the drawer face. Only solution is to find something to close the gap between the drawer and the drawer face. Bad buy.

            Drawer Fronts Custom Cut
Absolutely perfect. I painted them white, glued them to the original drawer fronts and they really added a beautiful touch to my little cabinet.

            Easy from start to finish
My only problem was finding a stain to match existing cabinets…. Otherwise I love my new drawer faces. Was an extremely easily experience from start to finish.

            Bad drawer face
I just bought the 36” base cabinet and once I painted it, I noticed bubbles in the drawer face. I tried to sand it out, but it’s under the top covering of thin wood veneer. I tried everything and it’s impossible to get rid of and I can’t find anywhere to buy just a drawer face. So do I bring the whole painted cabinet back that I’ve spent so much time on or do I just keep trying to find a replacement door of some kind?? I don’t know yet, but it’s a real pain and it looks terrible. I learned my lesson and will check the integrity of the wood before purchasing the rest of the cabinets that I need. If anyone knows how to get a replacement drawer face, I’d love to know.

              Doors different sizes
Have 36" unfinished kitchen cabinets and needed 18" (same style, i.e. wall cabinet) to finish cabinets all the way to adjoining wall. After installing, I noticed that the 18" cabinet doors did not cover the cabinet vertical opening (same for both 36" and 18") because the door for the 18" was 27-3/4" and the door for the 36" was 29". Either a mistake or terrible choice by Hampton Bay.
