Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. Yes you are covered for 5years. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot.
I am a licensed master electrician. You did not wire them wrong. I bought about 24 of these for my house and every single one went eventually went bad. Its too bad because, I actually really like the look of the light fixture and the light it gave off was perfect for me. I switched to the ones with the dragon flys and only had one burn out in 6 months.
I have even worse failure rates, 10 of 14 lamps! I am also using a brand new 200W Hampton Bay transformer, but on the 12 draw. I believe the design is somehow defective as more poor reviews for it are appearing on the HD web site. There lamps have the LED and electronics mounted at the top of the post where is attaches to the lamp cover/shade. I wonder if this allows too much moisture to collect there. I am trying a similar Hampton Bay LED path light but the LED and electronics are mounted at the top of the cover/shade and not at the screw on connection area of the post. It seems more isolated than the failing design. Again, just differences I noticed, not sure if relevant or electronics are just not designed well.
Sorry to hear that you are having this issue. We are looking in to the possible causes for the lights failing. Technically, the runs should be attached to the 12 volt taps, but should function properly when connected to the 15 volt tap. we understand the frustration caused by products that do not perform to your expectations. Please call customer service at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678). The lights are still covered by the warranty, and customer service will send you replacement lights.
