This would be the two wires coming from the transformer to complete the circuit.

What setting should the control be on when it is 60 degrees Fahrenheit outside?

Asked by Lili May 13, 2020

Answers

The humistat should have a table on the front portion of the unit and it probably indicates that at this temperature the unit should be on the off setting. There is a lot of moisture in the air so no real need for it to be on. Remember to turn the water supply line off and close the flue off as well.

Does this unit automatically set the humidifier on the furnace

Asked by Jon January 19, 2020

Answer

Yes, however it only established it to the percentage set on the front of the unit. Be sure to get the supply from the hot side of your water heater, not the cold. Also you might need to also have a signal from the furnace control so that you get water only when your system calls for heat.

will this humidistat work with a heat pump?

Asked by Gary April 4, 2019

Answer

Hi Gary, thanks for your question. The Honeywell Home Humidistat Humidifier Control provides accurate control of whole house humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and ventilators. It is not intended to control heating or cooling equipment, like a heat pump. If you are looking for something to control your heat pump you will need to get a thermostat. We would be happy to help you pick one out that will work for your system type and preferences. Feel free to give us a call at 1-800-468-1502 and our agents will go over the different options available to you. We hope this helps!

Answer

I ended up putting an interposing relay in series with the humidistat, because the furnace control board was sending out voltage whenever the blower turned on sending voltage to the solenoid. If you are not comfortable reading an electrical schematic, I would suggest having a HVAC technician take care of this, making a mistake could damage your furnace control module! Good luck.

Will an ultra-violet lamp mounted in the return duct from the duct mounted humidistat cause degradation of the H-stat?

Asked by Jim November 27, 2018
1
Answer

Hi Jim! Thanks for your question. This specific Resideo Honeywell Home Humidistat Humidifier Control has not been tested for effects from UV lamps. However, we recommend that when installing any product near a UV light source to select a mounting location that will prevent any plastic flexible duct (or other plastic components with unknown resistance to ultraviolet light) excess exposure to the UV light. After prolonged exposure, you may notice some discoloration on the humidistat. If you wish to discuss this further, feel free to give us a call at 1-800-468-1502. We hope this helps!

Hi Don! The Honeywell Humidistat Humidifier Control will provide low-voltage, accurate control of whole house humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and ventilators. It has a snap-acting, dust-proof SPST switch and can be mounted to a duct or wall. We recommend contacting Aprilaire to ensure this humidistat will be compatible with the system you have. They may have a humidistat that would be better suited for your Aprilaire system. We hope this helps!

Vague Instructions
Instructions are extremely vague. It says to connect the low-voltage wire to the leads. I know which wire is the low voltage but the unit itself and instructions do not indicate which wire it connects to on the unit itself. Searched the internet and found nothing. Called the 800 number and there was a wait of over an hour.
