The Husky 1/4 in. Air Compressor Filter is designed to remove unwanted dirt larger than 5 microns and condensed water from air compressor hoses. The filter has a 1/4 in. female NPT port and has a flow capacity of 21 SCFM at 90 PSI. The bowl screws on top of the clear filter and drains manually.

Where should this filter be place at, before the regulator or after? I have a Husky 8 gallon hotdog air compressor.

Install it before the regulator; that way, it will keep the moisture out of the regulator as well.

Says 150psi max. So will this work with the husky 175psi 20 gallon compressor?

No. You risk the chance of the polycarbonate bowl exploding. Find one rated for 200 psi maximum.

need to be vertical all the time during use?

Can I put this on the end of my hose, before my tool? What will happen if it is not vertical? Will water be sucked back into the line and into the tool?

i have one like this on my compressor. i have it at the compressor outlet before the hose. when i finish i press the release pin on the bottom to blow out any water which may be inside. i then empty the compressor of air. bought it over 10 years ago and still work fine. have it mounted vertical.

I just bought this filter and tried to loosen the bowl from the metal housing... I assume it just screws in to snug up with the o-ring.... No go with bare hands; should this need a wrench of some kind?? I'm afraid of breaking it before I even hook it up?!

suggest gently using channel lock pliers as it does unscrew.
