Product Overview

The dual-pawl technology on the Husky 100-Position Double Ratcheting Metric Wrench Set provides access to engage fasteners where other wrenches can't with its ultra-narrow, 3.6° arch swing box-end. Its 10% longer beam provides increased reach for accessing hard-to-reach fasteners and improves overall leverage. The innovative open-end ratcheting design improves the speed of ratcheting and allows access of an open-end without ever removing the wrench from the fastener.
  • Set includes 6 combination wrenches covering sizes: 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, 13 mm, 14 mm and 15 mm
  • Large size markings offer easy identification
  • Box end needs just 3.6° swing to turn a fastener
  • Open end also ratchets to quickly remove fasteners where box ends cannot reach
  • Alloy steel construction provides durability and long-lasting performance
  • Universal box-end fits 6-point, 12-point, square, E-Torx, spline and partially rounded hex fasteners
  • Industrial black finish stands up to a lifetime of use
  • 0° offset box-end allows for maximum clearance in tight spaces
  • Open-end allows the wrench to be slid into position from the side of the fastener
  • Box-end provides additional leverage and less likelihood of slipping when used on hard-to-remove fasteners
  • Package doubles as a storage rack to keep your wrenches organized and in 1 place
  • Meets or exceeds ANSI standards

Hey Barb, They are longer than a standard combination wrench to allow access to further away fasteners and provide more leverage. Thanks!

why isn't there an 11mm in the set? that's the one I need most.

Buy the SAE set and use the 7/16". You'll also get a 5/8", which will double as a 16mm.

Why does this set, and many others, skip the 18mm wrench size? I need an 18mm long pattern wrench...

I don't know why, however the other answers here are not factual as many quality tool manufacturers such as Sunex, Gearwrench, Mac, etc.... include these. I'd simply order a better set.

How much torque can be applied to these wrenches? Wondering if the open end is as strong as a non ratcheting style.

Asked by Jaydizzle November 26, 2018

Answers

I never apply much torque with any kind of ratcheting wrench. I first break the bolt loose (or do the final tightening) with a fixed wrench, just as I use a breaker bar instead of a ratcheting handle with socket wrenches.

How long is each wrench?

Asked by Jaydizzle November 26, 2018

Answer

Hi Jaydizzle, the lengths of these wrenches vary between 4-3/4 to 11-1/2 inches.

Can I purchase the 9mm and 11mm wrenches separately? These are not included in the set of six.

I have the same question and the same complaint regarding this set. I use 9mm and 11mm frequently when working on cars and bicycles.

Where is the 9mm and the 11mm? Can’t really have a complete set without.

Agreed, im always checking the tool aisle, to see if they decided to start selling them individually.

Extra Leverage Helps
Length provides leverage and these wrenches come with 10% more of the former which provides more of the latter. The carry case design is nice to have and the wrenches easily clip in and out of their assigned seats. The bold size markings make it easier to see at a glance which wrench is which. The surface grip on the open ends of the wrenches not only reduces the risk of rounding fastener corners it also spreads the load more evenly across the wrench head and the fastener. This, in turn, reduces the chance of the wrench failing. The box ends with six different fastener types including partially rounded hex heads. The tools are a nice weight and comfortable to hold and use and come with the famous Husky lifetime guarantee.

Quality Set
I got this set to update some older wrenches. These wrenches are solidly built and feel comfortable in your hands. They have grooves in both ends that really help to secure and grip the nuts and bolts. They are also an attractive flat black in color. They have a large range of metric sizes in this set and are more than versatile sough for heavy home usage. Great set to have around at a reasonable price point.

Very nice grip
This set arrive in perfect shape. These are splice drive end wrenches, which are still somewhat new to a lot of people. It's a nice design, since it slips on fastener heads easier, yet grabs and bears down into the flat sides, instead of if the absolute corner of a hex fastener. These did seen to bite nicely, and on hardened bolts perform well. I'm reluctant to use them on standard metal fasteners which are rusted. Still, if you are working on newer, cleaner, hardware, these are excellent. The longer length is more tan welcome. I also 'doubled up' wrenches to see how theyed stack up, and they do manage to do it; see pics. The picture shows they are not making a straight stack, like common box end wrenches, but will to the trick. Without even applying torque to them of pressing them together without a lot of force, the black finish did scratch. It didn't flake, so, bear in mind, these won't look perfect forever, but should last a long time. A major pet peeve of mine is a wrench set that skips 18mm, but includes 19mm. This makes NO sense, yet many sets do this these days. 18mm is by far more popular faster head size in the automotive industry than is 19mm. 18mm is NEEDED! There seems to be a disconnect between marketing, and people who need tools. A 19mm wrench is easily interchanged with 3/4 inch and vice-versa. Although, 19mm is popular for lugnuts, it's not for bolts. A starter kit, should never skip 18mm. The wrench caddy included, I hope will wear in. It takes a lot of effort to get the wrenches out of it. Husky could improve this, but I still recommend it.

Just what the Hubby Wanted
Ordered this set for my husband and he has been pleased with it. The set includes 10 wrenches from 1/4 in. to 7/8 in. and they come in a handy carrying case .... but .... the case is plastic and was damaged when we received it. The 1/4 in. wrench holder bracket was cracked and now the 1/4 wrench is difficult to hold in place. Other than the case being damaged, the wrench set is made of steel and is easily handled.

Heavy Duty Combination Wenches
These are a longer, heavier and have an improved design on both the open and closed ends that makes breaking free rusted bolts much easier. The open and closed ends have a shape that fits nuts and bolts much better and less prone to stripping and rounding the bolt off (see attached photos). These wrenches also weight more and have heavier cross sections. The open end it about 10% thicker and taller, the box end is also thicker than other wrenches. The thickness has an up-side, it distributes force over a bigger area and makes rounding off of bolts less likely but they are harder to get into a smaller area. This is also a minus in the length too, it takes more room for the swing but you get more torque. These wrenches are really a trade off on size and ease of use. The wrenches have a slight curve to the handle that makes picking them up of a workbench or the floor much easier. The surface of the wrench seems to be a powder coating with wrench information printed on the top of the coating. I don't know how the coating or printing will hold up over time but it seems to be of good quality. I would have rather seen the wrench size stamped into the sides of the wench since this is one of the first things you look at when selecting a wrench during work. The wrench set also comes with a very nice holder with hand grip. The hand grip can be easily removed (two 5mm Allen heads, see photos) to save space in your toolbox. Overall these are a good quality wrench set that feels good in your hand and does well getting the job done.

Another Great Set from Husky
This SAE wrench set covers ten popular sizes from ¼” to 7/8”. The wrenches are 10% longer than the regular size offering more leverage. The surface grip design on the open end holds the nut on the sides more than the corners increasing grip by 80% and safety too. The universal box end of the wrench is designed to work with six different fastener types! That can save technicians a lot of money in the long run. The wrenches are comfortable to hold and use engaging nuts easily. Each wrench has a large size marking that is easy to see. The whole set comes in a great tool holder with carrying handle that will also sit, instantly organised, in a toolbox.
