Questions & Answers

Has anyone tried a cordless drill on it to speed up height adjustment? Just wondering if the keyless chuck will fit.

Asked by: Rick
Yes you can use a #10 hex attached to your drill. This will fit inside the hole. Just be careful when you get close to the top or bottom of the range so you don't jam, strip or break the gears.

Can you take the crank handle off when you don't need to adjust it? I would like to not bang into it, Considering using in a open space and I would like to not have others be able to raise or lower.
Asked by: Sandy
Yes -- you are able to remove the handle as well as locking the wheels in place.

Yes and I plan on doing that , I'm thinking 2x4s on edge to make a frame work. That should clear the handle to move table up and down.

I love the wood top and how easy it is to change the height. The assembly was mostly easy, it would be nice if the parts were labeled more clearly out of the box. The caster wheels are also really good quality so it's very easy to roll around.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor quality control I bought this table for my wife at her request. Opening the box revealed at least 3 weeks worth of garbage pick up worth of styrofoam, lovely. Ok, so they went with the cheapest packaging...fine. at least the packaging worked well. I started assembly via the well done instructions first attaching one leg then the other. While attempting to install the upper cross brace it would not fit. Hm, ok, I installed the crank and raised the legs to allow more room for the cross brace to fit...still no joy. It turned out that the top cross brace was made at least 3/16" too long. Ok, now a choice...expand the mount holes in each of the legs to make space for the too long brace or cut the brace down. Having the proper tools I cut the brace. Problem solved. I had the needed tool, a metal cutting cold saw, to make this work. Others would have to box the whole thing back up and head back to HD. Not good. Other than that, a nice table.

I searched for a work table for several months before seeing this one on the Home Depot website and buying it a couple of weeks ago. Attributes I was looking for: (1) decent quality, (2) not too expensive, (3) crank height adjustment, (4) casters for mobility, (5) cross bar offset to the rear so I could use the table sitting down without it being in the way of my feet. This is the only one I've seen designed with all these features. It actually gives you the option of glides or casters and the option to install the lower crossbar centered or offset to the rear. Quality in my opinion is very good for the price, and assembly for me was quick and easy. It fits my needs almost perfectly. My only wish is that there were an option for a deeper top (maybe 30 inches instead of 24).

Easy assembly, but keep everything loose until all components are finger tight. Then, square-it-up with diagonal measurements before cinching all hardware. A 13mm socket/ratchet, is absolutely necessary. You will NOT get a wrench into the tight confines of the cross bar. I used a 6 inch extension on my 1/4" drive ratchet with the 13mm socket. Very nice, hefty bench top. Heavy box, but I'm old and have arthritis issues. Have a capable friend, and/or two of your girlfriends, lend a hand moving the box to its finale assembly location. All-in-all, it's a fantastic piece of shop equipment (or computer work station, I guess). The height range is sufficient for waist-height leverage at it's low point, or high enough for detail work. When in doubt about which size bench length to purchase, get the next size up. I went with the 62". Casters look flimsy, but all four have wheel locks and they roll nicely on my plywood shop floor. Missing two screws from the hardware kit. No biggie, but disappointing. Adapt, improvise, overcome... and buy two 20 cent screws. I'd buy it, again.

Moved to a new home without a garage work bench, so I chose this for the sturdy build, ability to move it around the garage floor and adjustable height. So good I bought a second one for my wife's sewing room. Excellent design and quality of materials.

With that being said, it is for the cover over the spinning bar so I feel that the ones I did get placed will be sufficient to use the table.

The only thing missing in the assembly step is to raise the legs a bit after they are mounted to the top. You need a inch or so of space to install the cover for the height adjustment bar.

Its mobility, combined with its height adjustment, is very useful and I find myself using it for multiple purposes from work projects, to grooming dog, to gift wrapping station. Seems whenever I have something to do, I end up just grabbing the table, bringing it to where I want it, making adjustment to height, and getting to work. Then it is easily stowed back to its normal location. Not too big to be intrusive, but big enough to handle bigger projects. Just a real handy addition to the garage.
