Answer This Question

A:  It is not normally magnetic. You can buy an inexpensive +/- magnet tool that by rubbing the piece on it, will magnetize it enough to hold the screw.

      Precision at a value…
I purchase Kershaw and other mid to high end pocket Knives that have seen better days to rebuild, replace broken or lost parts and refurbish them. That requires a T6, T7 and T8. I wanted something compact for when I’m not home and while at Home Depot I saw this for 8$. And the bits fit perfectly so no chance of stripping. If you strip one of these bits then the torx screw is off not the bits. Luckily they are lifetime warrantied also!!

        Not so great..
The previous version of this and the flat blade/phillips multi-driver were great. Why did they change them?

This Husky kit offers great value at first sight
To recycle a bunch of old hard drives I needed a very small T8 Torx screwdriver to remove the case screws. In use I found the kit okay but not outstanding. The supposed T8 fasteners on the hard drive may be badly made which would surprise me because everything else is aircraft grade quality. So why is the T8 bit a little too loose in the fastener. Maybe it's a T9 ... But that is just a bit too snug as well as the tip showing imperfections right out of the box. Well, the kit is doing the job for now but when the T8 and T9 bits give out I will look for a better quality replacement.

Works Well and The Price is Great
After reading the negative reviews I was hesitant to buy this. I needed to open the case of a very old Tektronix 2236 Oscilloscope. I was afraid that a cheap tool would strip the screw head or break. In fact, this worked perfectly on two different size Torx screws. Very grateful! You can see one of the very tiny screws in the bottom of the case in my attached photo.

This a poor machined piece of garbage
This crew driver will not work with a TORX 6 screw. The tip is so poorly machined, it will not fit into the screw head. This is mass produced garbage.

Tip did not stand up to one use, didn’t even tighten screw that forcefully.

Only set of torx I own
I don't use it often but when you need it, you need it. Typically T6 or less which is crazy small. I've seen bad reviews and it's probably operator error. You have to be gentle when dealing with such a small screw. Make sure you line up the tool and make sure it's all in before unscrewing.

T5 twisted and stripped on 6th screw
Bought these to remove T5 screws on a laptop. Removed the first 5, and on the 6th screw the head of the screw driver twisted and stripped, then started stripping the screw . It's completely unusable.

I purchased this torx kit to use on my Kershaw knives. I had a particularly difficult screw. The T6 stripped out right away. I wish I could return it. So I ended up having to send the knife back for repair. And now the size I need most is useless. I know there are better, stronger tools out there. That's where I'll be buying next.

                    T6 stripped with first use
Bought this to disassemble a Benchmade knife. T6 stripped after a couple of screws. Disappointing.
