Asked by Blondie August 2, 2020

This knife will cut vinyl flooring, but the there are specific blades used for vinyl flooring. Look online at for sku 1001615223. A 10pk. is $4.97. Hope this helps!!

How many blades does the storage compartment hold?

Asked by Vandiesel August 17, 2019

This knife comes with three blades. One ready to cut, and two in the storage compartment. You could probably put one or two more in there.

Will this knife cut, not just score, Lexon polycarbonate (the type with the channels)?

Asked by Hart January 27, 2019

This knife will just score Lexan. Best to try a rotary blade to cut Lexan, such as a Dremel tool.

Asked by Sal January 25, 2019

After discarding the old blade, retract the blade slide with thumb and another blade will load. when you open again a new blade will be in place. Make sure you load the storage compartment so you always have a new blade ready.

Asked by Sal January 25, 2019

i just looked at it for you. it has the same locking positions as the one you have. Open (~1" of blade showing), half (~1/2" of the blade showing), corner (~1/4" of the blade showing for like cardboard) and all the way in. Hope this helps!

Will this cut thru heavy duty boxes, carpeting, rubber?? Thank you.

Asked by Kay December 27, 2018

I know that this knife will definitely cut through carpeting and padding. I took out several roomfuls in my home over the weekend. That said, I imagine that it would probably go through heavy-duty boxes very easily.

what is the body made of?

Asked by aaron December 11, 2018

base metal.

The knife works great, and so far I have had no issues. Opening the knife is easy, and extending the blade requires enough force that it won't accidentally open, but not so much that it is uncomfortable/hard to do. The auto loading mechanism is also very smooth, and makes a nice click so that you know that the new blade is engaged. I have no spare blades, just the three that came with the knife, but it appears that it would hold a maximum of 6-10 blades in the knife; half in the auto loading mechanism, and half in the back storage area. As a plus, both storage areas have springs to make sure the knife doesn't rattle like many other utility knives do. A warning: the pictures are kind of misleading. It is NOT the knife shown in the second, third and fourth photos. It is the one with the silver thumb switch on the left hand side (the one with the white painted Husky logo), and the red button next to the painted logo. I attached a photo of what the knife looks like in reality.

The utility knife is the most used tool in my tool box. i end up using one on just about every project. So i have a few of them, i did not need a new one BUT this one had all the features I like. offset handle, quick change blade, easy opening and blade storage. the knife is very well made and feels great in my hand. the blade transfer mechanism is the best of all my utility knives. i took a photo. This is my new favorite knife.

Why can't I buy this anymore, it's the best!
I can't buy it at any local stores or online. What happened, this is the best knife I've ever owned?!

worked well until it broke
The latch that holds the handle closed popped open and will not close. Now the knife is useless. I have had it for less than 6 months and it is kept in a tool chest in the garage and has been used less than a dozen times. Good concept, handy when it worked, but poor quality.
