Q:Picture shows that ratcheting end of wrenches are not reversible correct? This function is a must have for auto mechanic work. Also, they appear not to have offset on ratchet side and also open end grip is smooth and doesn't have shear or groove for extra grip of fasteners, correct?

Answer This Question

A:  The racheting box end is reversible, just flip it over. The boxed end is also a flex head and has almost 180 degrees of angle. The open end is smooth.

A:  AI, this set does not have a reversing lever an it. Reversing levers are uncommon on flex head wrenches. To reverse the ratcheting directon you just need to flip the wrench over on the fastener. We do offer this 5 pc set in with a reverse lever but non-flex head. That is model number HRRW5PCMM. Lastly these wrenches have a standard open end. Our Husky black wrenches feature surface grip technology that moves the grip points away from the corners offering 180% of the grip of a standard wrench.

These wrenches to say the least may be worth their weight in gold, if you have a tight spot, with very little room to work. They are strong and dependable. You do have to flip them to change directions, which in my opinion makes it stronger than having a reversing switch. The open ends are strong and don't flex like many cheaper sets do. The flexible ratchet end is very convenient to get just the right angle. This is a metric set and I have already ordered the SAE set as well. Highly recommend for the pro mechanic or the backyard DIY'er

A set of flex head metric ratcheting wrenches, these are great for the tool box. I used one to remove my car's oil plug, and then on a tool with a bolt I needed to tighten. These seem sturdy enough; they come with a lifetime warranty. Here are the sizes: 7 flex-head ratcheting wrenches covering sizes 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, 13 mm, 14 mm, 15 mm, 18 mm and these come in a sturdy, latching case. These only need 5 degrees of turning space to work. I love the swinging heads because the ability to flex/move the head in a tight spot can make all the difference when a socket will not fit. I also like the lightness of the wrenches. Older people will know what I mean about hand fatigue. I wish they included 9 mm, 11 mm, 16 mm, and 17 mm. For tight spots these are your go-to wrenches. Even if a person has metric wrenches, these are portable and in a case but their flex heads and use in tight spots make them a necessity for anyone's tool box

This is a good set of metric ratcheting combination wrenches and necessary especially for vehicles and equipment purchased in the last 10 years or so. There are many more items under a hood and more sensors/devices crowding space. My regular socket and ratchet can’t reach them but a wrench like this will. This ratcheting wrench lets you turn a bolt or nut or at least hold it in place in these tight places. These wrenches are stout and well-made. They hold well and the ratchet has enough teeth to let it turn when space is limited. The Flex head is my favorite feature letting it flex when the wrench can’t be laid flat – very nice feature. Excellent set of wrenches to have in my toolbox

Great little set of wrenches! The flexible head and ratcheting gear system with the open faced wrench is very versatile to use. They are a little shorter than your average wrenches which is nice foe tight enclosed spaces. The storage rack they come in can be hung on a wall and it locks the wrenches in place. The only problem that I have is that the wrench set that I received came with 2 14mm wrenches and no 15mm wrench. Bad quality control.

A ratcheting combination wrench is a must. Having one with a flex head is amazing! Anyone who has turned a nut knows how many times you run into a situation where the nut or bold is in a recess that doesn't let you get the regular combination wrench in the hole. having the wratchet end also flex makes so many of these spaces accessible. Where I am working on my snowmobiles or working on a porch swing it makes life so much easier. This set comes in a handy carrying rack and also, one side of the handle is textured so it is easier to grip when your hands are dirty. That texture also helps you remember which side was up when you switch bolts so that you remember which way is tighten and which way is loosen. I posted a picture of the wrench on the porch swing. There is just a small angle and it would have been easy enough to just keep repositioning the wrench but with the flex end I just changed the angle and keept spinning the wrench 360 degrees while the nut was loose. I really like this set.

This set is a good quality and covers many of the most frequently used sizes of metric nuts/bolts. It has a nice chrome finish. One end is an open-end wrench and the other end is a ratcheting box wrench. The ratcheting end rotates 180 degrees so you can pivot the head up to 90 degrees in either direction to get at hard to reach nuts/bolts. There is an engraved direction on both sides of the wrench to let you know which direction the ratchet will tighten. That can be very handy so you don't have to test it manually. The holder is a great way to keep the set together. The "store-hanger" loop can be used if you want to hang the set on pegboard or a nail on your wall. FYI, multiple countries of origin since people always ask - Vietnam and China. See photo of package back.

The 7-Piece Husky Ratcheting Wrenches are a descent quality set of flex head wrenches. This metric set includes the more popular sizes: 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 18mm. They have a nicely polished finish and have several nice features that I believe are positives. The flex head has enough tension to stay in place when using. The manufacturer added a knurled edge on one side of the handle to better identify the ratcheting direction. The minimum 5 degree rotation allows them to be used in tight areas. The only flaw that I saw in my set is that the handle on the 8mm wrench is slightly bowed. It doesn't affect the use but is noticeable. They do come in a reusable plastic carrying case and have a lifetime warranty. The packaging states that these are a product of Vietnam and finished in China.

This is a very nice set of wrenches at the price. I’ve got a 7-pc set of another brand in SAE with the same lifetime warranty and these compare very closely with those. But those cost half again as much as this set for a 7 wrench set. These differ from the others in a number of small ways some pro some con. These have longer handles which of course means you can get more torque if you need it while sacrificing some ability to fit in some places. These also have slightly thicker ends but slightly thinner shafts/handles. So the handles on the others are just very slightly more comfortable than these. But I do like the knurling on these. The swivel heads on these are noticeably stiffer than the other set I have. That gives the impression the fit is not quite as precise. The other set swivels more smoothly. The jury is out if this greater stiffness is good or bad. It’s just different. Of course they could get smoother with use. The ratcheting on these is clearly smoother where it is somewhat coarse on my other set so these must have more teeth. That mean less arc needed to turn a nut of course. That is good because if you are using one of these it is very possible you are doing so due to working in tight spaces. The markings on these are reasonably easy to read-not write home about it easy but my aging eyes make them out “OK”. I will say on the smaller sizes I do struggle a little even with my glasses on to read them but no more than my other swivel head more expensive wrenches. So yeah, the markings could be a little bigger for my preferences. It’s funny. My nearly 40 year old combo wrenches that have more of a mat finish are the easiest I have to read because there is no glare with them (I got those before everything was made in China and remarkably have not lost any of them). But this gloss finish is easier to keep clean and that is good because I clean my tools up when I’m done with them. You can see my 38 year old ones still look good and that is why. I expect these will last just as long meaning they should last past me and then another generation if taken care of. I like the carrier these come with and I would use it in my box but the drawer I have these in is too shallow for it. It does stow them into a nice more compact footprint if you can use it and it is handy for carrying them. I’ll hang onto it even though I won’t keep them in it normally. For the price with the warranty and quality of these I don’t think you can beat the value on them. I’ve found that to be the case with a lot of the husky tools. They’re solid and reasonably priced.
