We were removing rust stains from a stucco home caused by iron in the sprinkler water and frankly, did not find this product to be effective, even when mixed at twice the recommended concentration.

Can I use "Iron Out" on marble counter top?

Can I use "Iron Out" on marble counter top?
Asked by: BobW
No, primarily, on the surface of fancy stones. It will leave holes or cracks (removing the unwanted particles) on/in the surface and could cause breakages. This product contains acid (Sulfuric acid, H2SO4) and should not be used as a household cleaner. It will damage and harm metals, semi-metals, gases, rocks, stones, sands, raw-clays, fabrics (especially, cotton), leathers, hair, skin, damaged-silica, and upholstered items (reaches through the cracks and holes). This product is not a household cleaner and can be very harmful if, not used as the factory instructions. This product will remove and damage the protective layer of acrylic products and if cracked, will destroy and or resolve the tubs or any other similar items. You may dilute Hydochloridric acid, Muriatic acid (pool acid), ≤6.4pH (70% part-acid, 20% part water). The treatment should be in several-short-times (3-5 times, 4-15 minutes) and wash or wipe thoroughly with water to prevent any possible damages (if there are any cracks or holes). After the procedure, apply some cooking oil, corn, olive, or coconut, etc. onto the area and wipe off after about 2-3 hours. Do not forget to protect your eyes and body (gloves and goggles). Good luck,

Asked by: HD
Travertine could be more sensitive than marbles (depending on the quality, quantity of holes and or cracks per square inch). Please refer to my answer to the question for the marble tops.

You would not believe the number of products I have tried or the amount of scrubbing I have done to get the toilet tank clean, with little or no results! I added one cup to the tank (do not drain the water) and 1/2 cup to the bowl before I went to bed; when I awoke, I flushed the toilet and when I looked, both were sparkling clean!! I AM THRILLED!!! I have already posted my experience on Facebook to share with family and friends; you will be so happy you bought something that does what it says!!

I have lots of iron in my water, The tub was not bright anymore. The rust was taking hold. Used "Iron Out" as directed and tub looks bright and rust free now. I tried the spray bottle of "iron Out" on my vinyl siding that is stained from sprinkler system. That worked too! Now onto the vinyl fence. Very happy!!

The iron bacteria issue is completely eradicated by other means. What those means are, I don't know however this is a great temporary fix.
