What is the silver clip for and how do you use it?

This question has been asked before diameter of outside bar and you responded 1 inch. But the label on mine says it is 1.25" but doesn't say which bar. So what is the actual outside diameter of the outer bar?
Hi there, You are correct, it is a 20 gauge and 1.5" diameter
The bar came out completely and I’m having a hard putting it back in. Does someone had same problem and solved it? Thanks

The cargo area wall should be fixed walls or sides, cargo bars are not intended to have “Compression Forces”, only to divide and to prevent cargo from sliding around in the larger cargo areas.

The Working Load Limit (WLL) is 350lbs, however cargo bars are intended to be placed across a cargo area, creating a barrier and separation of a larger cargo area. The cargo area wall should be fixed walls or sides, these bars are not intended to have “Compression Forces”, only to divide and to prevent cargo from sliding around in the larger cargo areas.
Enough to damage the bed sides and/or cause the bar itself to bow.
How do you release the ratchet bar?
Push release on handle. Then open the.handle filly and the locking mechanism releases
To release pull gold tap back to handle flip black handle all the way forward to silver rod and it will release.
The handle must be opened past the stop to release the lock. Lift the tab and push handle fully open. When the handle is fully open the cargo bar will release and collapse.
