What is the lowest humidity that I can achieve with this unit

I've never gotten mine below 42% with it running constantly. I'm using it in the main living portion of my house (2600 sq. ft.). My A/C is set on 70%, and my windows and doors are all closed all of the time. The unit can be set as low as 35%, but I have never gotten mine to pull it below 42%.

I have mine in the main living area of my home as well. We put it in the dining room which is central to our living space, and it sits about 4 feet from the entrance to our bedroom. I don't think that you will be disappointed in the noise level. It might seem a little more than you'd like for the first 15 minutes, but then it will most likely blend into the background and you won't notice it much after that. I probably wouldn't put it close to my TV, but other than that I think you'd find it's not bad.

You don't really "change" this filter, you just wipe it clean. Very simple. And it's from the top.

Does the dehumidifier help with cooling the room

Asked by obrn May 30, 2017

Yes, in that humidity makes you feel both heat and cold more. I keep my thermostat (A/C) on 70 because I'm from Colorado and like my air cool and dry. But at night when the outside temp is close to the inside temp, and the A/C doesn't cycle to keep the air dry, even though it's still 70 degrees, it feels muggier and warmer. With the dehumidifier, the air still feels cool, dry and comfortable even though the A/C is not running.

down to what temperature is this unit rated to perform plz

If it's humid it will be no longer with this unit. I've had mine running for 3-years or better. It allows only 30% humidity before it achieves it's total duty. I have this in a 400 sq. Ft. area and have to empty the reservoir 4-times daily. It does offer the continuousness drain via attaching a garden hose. I'm sure I would pull even more humidity out if it were not inside. Kentucky's "Bluegrass" is because of this humidity. If it were not for this machine I could not breath this amphibious weather. Hope this helps.

Working great for 2 weeks. The hose attachment was a little clumsy to connect to, and took some patience, but I managed the first time with no leak. Good product for the price.

Very good machine. the only down side to it is the water tray is a little fussy to slide in and out. Other than that I have bought 6 units and they all have held up well.

I use this dehumidifier in the garage, where I do my woodworking. With both doors to the garage closed, this item's readout shows 10% - 15% relative humidity lower than the room humidity. I have an accurate analog hygrometer (with %relative humidity) in the garage. The two are always 10% - 15% apart, with the dehumidifier reading less than the hygrometer. The included hose attachment is difficult to insert in the unit. The attachment is supposed to go through a hole in the back, and surround a shaft on the inside of the unit (in the lower compartment where the bucket is). The unit shaft and the hose shaft are the same size, making it difficult to slide the semi-soft hose plastic over the hard unit plastic. Much of it has to be pushed, almost forced in - and even then, does not go in all the way. Otherwise, this unit does what I need it to do. At least in the Florida winter (it's January now). As long as the humidity in the garage is 50% - 65% while I'm working, and the paint is drying, I'll keep this unit. (I'm working on a chess/checkers/backgammon set, and need to paint the chess pieces at the moment - and paint/stain the rest of the project when needed. Plus, other planned projects. So I'll need to keep the humidity within an acceptable range.)

I never had a need for a dehumidifier before, but I had no idea how much water was in my basement air! This is a great dehumidifier. I love the timer, the only thing I don't love is that it gets quite full before automatically shutting off. If not using a hose (like me), it's precarious to remove the front panel to dump the water, but overall, I'm completely satisfied.

The instructions are lousy for this unit. Had to figure out how to use it on my own and I'm still not sure of what this unit can do. It's features are not that great at all. It's running all the time buy works somehow. Never again. I bought it BECAUSE of the features but can't seem to access them.
