why does my alarm go off everytime I use my stove over ?? . the alarm is on the 2nd floor top of stairs . if you walk down the stair the kitchen is 26 feet to the back of the house .not sure if I have a bad smoke or not
Asked by: chuckolboy
Heat rises and circulates upwards carrying the ionization that the unit is designed to detect. Somehow your stove is producing combustion products most likely from burning off splattered food.

We will have a small 1 bedroom garage apartment soon that is about 800 sq. ft., would one of these be ok for that or would you recommend something different? The layout an open living/dining kitchen area, small hallway with laundry and bathroom off the hall and then bedroom at the end of the hall, that's it, so not large at all.
Asked by: Weju
My personal opinion since I can not see the layout is that you place 1 smoke detector near the nearest exit & 1 near your bedroom doorway. Stay clear of the kitchen area as it may go off when your cooking.

Can I stick this smoke alarm detector on the wall myself

Asked by: 124
You cannot just stick this alarm to a wall because it does not come with an adhesive strips. You must drill 2 holes in your wall, place the anchors in the holes, attach the mounting plate with the supplied, 2 screws to the anchors on the wall, and then attach the alarm to the mounting plate.
