Product Overview

  • Smoke alarm requires hardwire installation
  • 9V battery backup for protection even during power outages
  • All interconnected alarms will sound when one alarm goes off
The Kidde i12060 is an AC/DC powered, ionization smoke alarm that operates on a 120V power source with 9V battery backup. This alarm uses ionization sensing technology. Ionization sensing alarms may detect invisible fire particles (associated with flaming fires) sooner than photoelectric alarms. Photoelectric sensing alarms may detect visible particles (associated with smoldering fires) sooner than ionization alarms. The front load battery operation speeds installation and reduces battery replacement time and effort by eliminating the need to remove the alarm from the ceiling.
  • Compatible with Kidde, FireX, Code One and Sentinel products
  • 9-Volt battery backup provides protection during power outages
  • Interconnectable with up to 24 devices (of which 18 can be initiating) including smoke, CO and heat alarms, see users guide for complete instructions
  • Provides a hush feature to quickly silence nuisance alarms
  • Learn how to install a smoke alarm

  • *Check with your state and local fire and Building/Safety codes for specific information regarding smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarms.
  • Kidde offers a full range of 120-Volt AC wire-in life safety products with interconnect capability to provide the most immediate and complete system available, when any one interconnected alarm is triggered, all interconnected alarms within the home sound an immediate warning
  • Smoke detector utilizes an ionization sensor to detect fire hazards and sounds an 85 db alarm when a hazard is detected
  • UL/CSFM ref. i12060

Smoke detectors should be replaced 10 years after they are manufactured. Should have a date on the detector when manufactured.

How often does battery need replacement
Asked by: George
Battery needs replacement once a year. If battery fails, there would be no alarm during power outage.

Is this a equal replacement for model #1276? Will it fit the same base?
Asked by: TG
Exact same. I replaced the 1276. Base the same size. Just twist off the old model from the base, back out the screws and put new base up. My old bases were yellowed with age. I used old 3 prong connectors that were in the ceiling as they also exactly fit on these. The old prongs have a plastic connecter, you have to push on the sides for a nice easy slide into place and some of those were old/stiff. Possible they could break but if they did, these models come with a new connector with black/white/red wires, I just did want want to mess with that part. They are cheaply made and one of the 6 I ordered was defective, so you might want to order an additional one, while shipping is free. Can always return to store or keep one for a back-up. Good luck.

all the pics of this show wires and not the bottom. mine mounts to the ceiling w/3 pins on the back. Is there an upgrade for i12060?
Asked by: TCAM
The 3 wires are for AC connection and has a plug that connects to the 3 pins on the smoke detector.
