1 Gal. Xylene Flammable Paint Solvent

This product saved my concrete patio! After trying several products to remove old improperly applied clear acrylic coating this is the product that worked and returned my ruined patio to like new. My concrete patio was coated with too much acrylic clear coat and it yellowed and looked like a milk coating on top of the concrete. Nothing would remove it until I discussed this. Just poured it on , used a light deck brush and rinsed it off. The old coating was completely removed. The red color of concrete is like new and free of the old coating. So thankful for this product.

Fantastic product with multiple uses. In addition to being a thinner this is a great product for cleansing metals such as copper, brass, silver or other metals (including welded metal) that will tarnish as the last step before sealing them. Items can range from a jewelry silver ring to my project welded copper pipe to make a suspended wine glass rack. Depending on the condition of the item you may need to start by sanding, cleaning, and/or buffing the metal first. Polish metal next using a suitable polish for the type of metal (In my case, Brasso), then mix 1 cup water 1 tsp baking soda to create a bath/wipedown (depending on size of your piece) to neutralize the ph from the polish (skipping this step can cause tarnishing under the sealing if not done due to high ph from most polishes being trapped under the sealer). Rense / wipe with water and dry. SOAK SPONGE IN XYLENE AND WIPE DOWN ENTIRE PIECE AND ALLOW TO AIR DRY. I have found that XYLENE is the best way to cleanse the metal as the last step before sealing. This removes all traces of any left over residues including fingerprints and skin oils from touching the piece during this entire process. Lastly, seal piece with sealer such as Everbright following their instructions.
