Hi, can someone please help? I am trying to remove what are probably years and years of layers of paint from the metal hinges on my entry door and a door to my laundry room. I was able to remove almost all of the layers from the two lower hinges and it did involve a lot of elbow grease, scraping and steel wool after soaking with Motsenbocker's Lift Off latex paint remover as well as Max Strip paint and varnish stripper on multiple occasions. I even made a poultice out of hand towels soaked in both products (not at the same time) and wrapped around the hinges for 24 hours! For the life of me I can't get the paint off completely off those two top hinges. Would this help or is there any other product someone can recommend? Thanks.

HI, I don't know if the acetone would work for that, but if you can get to a heat gun and apply extreme heat to the hinge, that would be a easier way to remove the paint off the hinge cause it would literally melt the paint right off!! I hope that helps. God bless You.. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-Variable-Temperature-Heat-Gun-with-LED-Digital-Display-8988-20/100609355.

Try a small section first. It may eat into the plastic.... It may or may not remove the paint.
