The Klein Tools 37 Inch Communications Cable Cutter is designed primarily for cutting large, multi-pair communication cables. It’s rated for up to 900-pair soft copper or aluminum cables. I used it to cut through some 4/0 aluminum power cable and it sliced through it with ease. It comes with U. S. Made forged tool steel (replacable) jaws and a black-oxide finish for rust resistance.
For it's large size and cutting capacity, the tool weighs only 8.55 lbs. It’s not designed for cutting steel or ACSR materials. Recommended for the professional communications and electrical contractor.

Quality US-made product from Klein Tools, as would be expected.
As an electrical contractor of 30 years, I've been relying on Klein for the brunt of my specialty electrical tools for since almost the dawn of time. Their made-in-the-USA stuff has never let me down.
These are marketed as communications cable cutters, but to the eye do not look any different than Klein's current model electrical cable cutters, nor different from any pair that I've ever owned. Receiving them, they are clearly stamped on the cutter head "for communication cable only". I did contact Klein via my Instagram account, inquiring about this, but did not receive a response.
4/0 SEU was the largest cable I had with me at the house. Sure enough, this cutter struggled to get through them as much as my much smaller 18" pair did, while my older 32" pair has no trouble with such.
So, for whatever the reason, despite these 37" cutters looking like they could handle your standard electrical usage, there is something about them that they are intended for communications cable only. Obviously, they are also labeled as for copper and aluminum conductors only - not steel or ACSR - as any cutter of this type would be.

These cut thru 900 pair with ease. Still too new to guess how well they will hold up, but I’m sure they will be well worth the money long before they are worn out. One note-to get them around a big cable, you need to open them almost 180 degrees, so these often won’t work in tight spaces

This is the most powerful cable cutter that I've ever seen. Even though it's advertised as a cable cutter, I've already used it on cables, chains and even small branches on trees. It's quite versatile. I have owned a few lesser quality cutters in the past and what generally happens is that they chip or get so dull that they are no longer effective. I recommend to anyone that buys this item, that they wipe a tiny film of motor oil on the blades when you're not using it. If you do this, this tool should last a lifetime - in fact, several lifetimes.

The 37 in. Communications Cable Cutter from Klein Tools are constructed with very durable black-oxide finished jaws and fiberglass handles. Weighing in under 9 pounds makes the cutters easy to carry around and maneuver. the 30 handles allow for excellent leverage when cutting thru thicker materials. These cutters are designed to up to 900-pair of soft cable.
These cable cutters are a must have for any electrician or person that cuts larger wire (1/0 to 750 kcmil). They are built well in the U.S.A., the cutting head can be replaced after it gets dull, and they are a great time saver on the job site. I also have a pair of Klein ratcheting cable cutters that work well in tight quarters but when you have the space this cable cutter is faster and easier to use. I love my pair I use them 3 plus time a week on jobs and am extremely pleased with them. Also you can't beat the quality of Klein when it comes to electrical tools.

I have been a builder and remodeler for 48 years, and as such I always have a need for tools. I tell people: an electrician needs electrical tools, a plumber needs plumbing tools, an HVAC guy needs HVAC tools, but a builder and remodeler needs all the tools, because he ends up having to do a little bit of everything. So, this "37 IN. COMMUNICATIONS CABLE CUTTER" rocks! Very good tool!

Powerful cable cutter!
These cable cutters are long and powerful. The cutting area has two curved blades, which are made to hold the cable in place, while it's being cut. The long handle allows me to generate a log of cutting force. The head is heavy and well made.
These cutters are made specifically for cutting large communications cables. Even though you could probably used these for cutting other things like bolts or metal rods, I don't recommend it.
These cable cutters are well built, solid and feel like they'll last a lifetime!
I highly recommend these cable cutters

This review is for the Klein 37 inch Communication Cable Cutter. So far I have used it to cut copper and aluminum cables. This is my first cutter so all I can say is that it has hook-jaw blades to grab and hold cables and offers shear-cutting action for clean cuts. The cutting tool has jaws are made of forged tool steel with a black oxide finish and includes exceptionally strong fiberglass handles with heavy vinyl grips. It has beveled tips for positive mating, a hinge bolt with pin-set nut for proper blade tension and heavy-duty pins in the head to serve as blade-stops. I can also say that whatever you can fit in its mouth it will cut cleanly. Use extreme caution.

I had the opportunity to evaluate this well built Com cable cutter. Com cables are the bundled wires found in Telephone and other wired communications mostly in commercial buildings. This cutter cuts even the large bails of bundled wire with almost no effort. Clean cuts reduce the time to connect to new service.
The handles are molded for comfort and the leverage reduces fatique when cutting multiple bundles.
This compact Ratcheting Cable Cutter allowsThis compact Ratcheting Cable Cutter allows for one-handed use of the ratcheting mechanism, so the other hand can position the cable to ensure proper cut. High-Leverage ratchet mechanism cuts copper, aluminum and communication cables leaving no burrs or sharp edges. The patented two-step ratchet mechanism requires fewer strokes per cut. A quick-release lever opens blades easily in every cutting position so the cable can be removed before the completion of the cut. Steel cutting blades are hardened for lasting strength and sharpness. Plastic covered handles with hand guards provide a comfortable, firm grip.View Full Product Description
