This thing is awesome. Anyone who has dropped a screw or nut or bolt behind an appliance or in the engine bay of a car knows the value of a good telescoping magnetic pick up tool.
I have a cheap, small, flimsy 'pocket' version that works for small screws, but it isn't very long, can't hold much more than an ounce, and doesn't have a flashlight.
This Klein pick up tool is super heavy duty, extends to over 28" in total length, and has a neat 3" flexible section at the tip. The magnet is incredibly strong--I was able to suspend a 10" crescent wrench by just the tip of the wrench, which is incredible.
The built in flashlight is a nice touch. A small rubberized power button makes it easy to turn on and off while holding the cool, and projects a bright, tight focused beam.
The tool has a large flat metal belt clip on the back, and the entire tool is covered with a rubber outer surface. This is a serious, beefy, tool that is really well designed and well made.
With that said, since this is primarily a magnet, this is a somewhat bulky tool, considering what it is. It is great for the toolbox or tool bag, but probably not something you would carry around on you all day unless you actually need to use the magnet regularly. However, because it has the flashlight, it might be a good EDC flashlight that just happens to have a magnet.
This is a really well designed, well made, rugged, professional tool.
