A:  Recommendation is to find the source of the air flow and ensure that any holes are caulked and sealed so outside air is not entering. We would need additional information as to the size of the area you are trying to insulation, to make a recommendation of type of insulation to install.

My wife and I installed R49 insulation in 1,200 SF attic in about 3.5 hours. She loaded the machine while I blew the insulation the attic. The insulation and machine were easy to use for any home owner that is slightly handy. My wife is not at all and she was able to load the insulation with ease. The only issue we ran into was the instructions told us to insert half a bag in insulation at a time. We found that would clog the machine, so we could only insert 1/4 bag at a time. The insulation went much further than we expected. Our attic had no insulation and we were able to archive R49 with 20 bags for 1,200 SF. For first timers we recommend blowing insulation in the attic early in the morning while the attic has time to cool all night.

Knauf EcoFill Wx Fiberglass Blown-in Insulation - This is a quality insulation product! I got this to insulate (dense pack) the slopes around my dormenrs (cape code style house) and the ceiling above it to increase the r-value/ reduce the heat loss! I did a little research into the company and it appears they have been ahead of the game for years. Glad I got their product

This package of fiberglass insulation is for the blow-in process. It is a high quality product and does the job. I am doing a room addition to my home and used several bags of this to insulate the ceiling. Renting a blow-in machine from Home Depot is easy and saves time and money when trying to get a company to do a small job. One day is all you need. Just wear a mask, gloves, and goggles, and have the satisfaction of a job well done. Recommended.

Love the product. Talked to Chad the rep and if Home Depot could keep up with my pro extra acct and do right by as much as I use of product I would be happy. I am missing alot of fuel points and savings because they dont have accurate records of all my purchases.I use same company card everytime and purchase anywhere from 50 to 90 bails a month.

Done in July. Temperature in the house went down between 8-10 degrees in the areas were insulation was applied. Temperatures are now sustained longer and AC does not fire up that frequently.
