You say you are Eco-Friendly, But You don't carry simple repair products that reduce the plastics that end up in our landfills, No, you sell the more expensive complete toilet valve assemblies that are more expensive, so you make a larger profit.

Looks to me that there is a small red flat gasket on the underside of the float that is what is actually stopping the flow of water when the water level pushes the float up. Might be that when it seals it causes the pressure to be equalized which in turn causes the above gasket to seal (not sure just a guess that all the water doesn't come through the tiny hole that the float shuts off). The one I just replaced had a deep dent in that gasket where it closes off the small water flow and it leaked very slowly. Shouldn't this gasket be replaced also to ensure the valve doesn't still leak? Could it be that just turning the flat gasket over would solve the problem?

I just bought my and replaced it in 15 to 20 min. There is helpful video on youtube by Korky. I believe that the dent in the small gasket should not be the problem unless it has cracks. Turning that small gasket over should solve the problem (I have turned my over).

Why do I have to buy the cap? Waste of plastic. Just sell me the insert for half the price. The one that came with my toilet lasted several years. These Korky ones only last a year.

I wound up just swapping the red seals to resolve a plastic molding vent issue on two newly purchased caps. Unfortunately the old plastic caps from the original value fit very loosely when I tried to re-use them and they still had leaking issues with the new seals. The new plastic caps fit tighter. Possibly because they were cleaner.

After flushing, my toilet starts filling then stops for a second then starts again. This cycle occurs about 3 times before the tank is full. Is this the part I need to fix this issue?

I had the same issue and this part did the trick. I watched a youtube video on how to disassemble, clean & reassemble the fill valve so I knew exactly what to do. It worked for me!

Yes this part replacement should resolve the perpetual on/off tank filling symptom. Also try attaching a small or medium size styrofoam fishing line bobber to the top of your flapper which will make it stay open longer for better complete flushing.

Thank you for your question about the R528CM Korky® Toilet Fill Valve Replacement Cap and for choosing Korky. We recommend double checking your water supply line to ensure that it is completely open. In the event that your water supply line is restricted, it may cause the fill valve to be louder than normal. If this does not fix the noise, please call our customer service line by dialing 1-800-528-3553, and we will walk you through a few checks to resolve the issue.

Perfect part for my tapping toilet
This little part worked like a charm, saving me both time and money. You probably don't need a new fill valve, just replace this part. Fixed the annoying tapping sound after every flush. Just look for the part number on your existing fill valve. 99% chance it will fit even if the number matches but the "letters" don't.

About 18 months ago, I replaced fill values on three toilets with the Korky QuietFill valves in my home. Within the last month, two of the three toilets started making hissing sounds and were slowly filling to the top of the overflow tube. Found out the hard way one toilet overflow tube was above the handle hole. That's another story. Tried twisting the caps as shown online and that didn't help. So I purchased TWO of these replacement caps from HomeDepot and followed the directions. No matter what, I couldn't get neither cap to allow water through. Re-installed the hissing ones and water flowed fine. These new replacements would only make a popping sound when water was turned back on but not a drop of water went through the valve. After removing the red rubber seals on the new caps the problem was apparent. A small vent hole was filled with plastic molding material. So both of these replacement caps had the same manufacturing defect. Apparently the vent hole allows air movement on one side of the red seal during opening and closing. To get the two toilets working again I pulled the red seals from the new caps and swapped them with the seals in the old caps. That seemed to work as a quick fix. Nothing like cannibalizing something you just bought to get a working solution. I contacted Lavelle Industries to discuss the plastic molding issue. Customer service understood and stated two replacement caps would be mailed out. Also they stated a return envelope would be provided so they could inspect the defective caps upon return. Fast forward about 10 days later and two caps arrived but no return envelope. I assume they were well aware of this and didn't want to bother with postage. Getting two brand new caps from HD with the vent holes mis-molded was quite annoying. Kudos to Lavelle for at least replacing the defective ones. Actually one of my kludgy fixes made the leaking worse so I did re-purchase one from a large online source. I wasn't going back to my local store as I suspect all on the shelf had the same problem. Also I wasn't going to count on getting a replacement but Lavelle did come through on that in the end. The photos aren't very clear but the old cap light would pass through the vent. Both replacement cap vents were plugged and basically filled flush with plastic. Both wouldn't (couldn't) work. If after installing a replacement cap and no water passes through, you may to check for the same manufacturing issue. Short term fix is to just swap red seals.

Don't replace the whole fill assembly
I called Korky and tech support told me that usually only the seal in the cap goes bad. I replaced the cap and the toilet worked perfectly!
