About This Product

Great projects start with high-quality cuts, and you can make those cuts-more easily than you ever imagined-using your circular saw plus the Rip-Cut Circular Saw Edge Guide. The Kreg Rip-Cut turns your circular saw into a precision edge-guided cutting tool that makes straight, accurate, repeatable cuts in plywood, MDF, and other large sheets. With the Rip-Cut, you can cut w/ the confidence you want and the precision you need. The Rip-Cut easily makes straight, accurate, repeatable cuts without measuring, marking, or having to keep the saw on the cut line. The Rip-Cut does this with a long edge guide that follows the straight edge of the sheet you are cutting. So, all you have to do is lock the saw in at the measurement you want-up to 24"-using the built-in measuring scale, and then make your cut. With a built-in measuring scale, you don't have to measure and mark each cut, either. Just lock the saw sled at your desired cut width, and you're all set, whether you need to cut one piece or make multiple pieces of the exact same size. Plus, the Rip-Cut makes it easier to cut down large sheets by yourself and is very easy to use. Simply mount your saw to the universal sled-it accepts most left-blade or right-blade saws-and then slide the sled onto the aluminum rail. After a simple one-time calibration, you can lock in your cut width (up to 24") using the measuring scale and precision cursor. Then, just hold the edge guide against the edge of your sheet as you guide the saw.

The decline in the front of the dewalt 6 1/2 circular saw show causes it to nose dive when mounting and the back is above the sled by about 1/2 inch - how do you fix that?

          1 Answer |
          Answer This Question

Thank you for your inquiry. There is really nothing that will fix that but that gap should not affect the cut. Once you start making your cut, that gap will go away.

              1 Answer |
              Answer This Question

Thank you for your inquiry. You will want to make sure you have at least a 6.5" blade or larger and at least 5/8" of open and free space across the entire front of that base plate so the swinging arms can clamp down. The base plate also has to be less than 3/8" thick.

Many users appreciate its ease of setup and ability to produce accurate cuts, while some express concerns about the durability of its plastic components. Kreg 24 inch rip saw guide
I bought this at Home Depot yester day to cut 4x8x23/32 plywood into 12"x8' shelves for my garage. Great buy for the price and what a labor saver. I have a table saw but this was easier, faster and I didn't need any help. Once setup it was spot on in dimensions. It may not be what a cabinet maker would use but this is not rocket science either. You can see it fit my Makita circular saw in the pictures. The 24 inch was great to cut it down 24" and then to 12" for easier handling. Highly recommend for ripping

It is very accurate, but bad choice of materials
I purchased this Kreg Rip Cut Circular Saw Guide to make cutting down sheet stock simpler. I wanted something that was easy to set up and accurate, and this does exactly that. It was very easy to set up with my Makita 18 V Brushless circular saw and after doing a couple of test cuts I was able to dial in the cuts extremely accurately. I like the fact that I can lay a full sheet of plywood on a couple of saw horses and do repeat rip cuts without having to try to wrestle it on a jobsite table saw or constantly have to measure and clamp down a straight edge. It does everything I was hoping it would effectively and efficiently, so why 4 stars instead of 5? It's all down to the fact that Kreg uses too much plastic in most of its tools and guides. This saw guide used a plast sled that holds the circular saw in place by means of two metal fasteners with screws. This is not the most secure fastening system that I have used and if you over tighten those fasteners you actually start stressing the plastic sled, but if you don't tighten them enough the saw can move out of alignment because of the flex in the plastic. This sled should have been made of aluminum as the weight of the saw will eventually break this plastic sled at the pivot point. I would have happily paid an extra $50 if it was made from aluminum and not cheap plastic that's not even fiberglass reinforced. I will talk to by friend in a machine shop to see if he can make the same sled from aluminum. Poor design Kreg, stop overcharging for cheap materials.

                      Don’t waste money.
Used a handful of times and literally when needing to rip a PVC sheet for trim this happens. Do not waste your money. Flimsy and not for anything more than basic DIY use a couple of time. Definitely not worth the price.

Great tool for DIY and if you dont have a table saw. Makes ripping a board much easier and allows you to keep a straight edge. Recommend.

                        Not worth the money
Not worth the money I paid. It seems like a good idea, but it is better in theory than practice. I bought this with the hope of creating a tall cabinet. I followed the directions, put it together, used by good-quality Dewalt circular saw with the tight blade and it was tight against the fence and tightly secured, ensured that the piece I was cutting and the edge being followed was straight and square and that I had my hand pushing the guide against the edge guide. First cut started off well and then the saw veered off at about 12 inch mark. This is being returned.

                          Game changer
This was so much easier then my dad and I setting up the table saw and trying to get precise cuts for building cabinets. The cuts were perfect! So much easier. Simple setup for your right hand or left hand. Only thing I wish it had an aluminum plate for the saw to attach, but still worked great. Highly recommend

                            absolutely amazing!!
Im beginning my journey into woodworking and this is absolutely awesome for cutting sheets of plywood. Dead on accurate for multiple cuts. Easy to use and set up. I used it to replace the old fiberboard that was around the garage door.

Kreg Did Not Design With Skil In Mind
I have a Skil brand circular saw, and based on remarks from Kreg, believed that their rip cut guide would work fine. It's an average 7 1/12 circular saw brand created by the circular saws. Well apparently I'm the only person who discovered what saw WILL NOT fit this guide! Only 1 hole on baseplate I am new to carpentry abs haven't invested in big ticket items or brands, but for sure thought a Skil brand would be considered in the design by Kreg. Disappointed as I'm at another halt in my project.
