Product Overview

  • Allows you to make a straight cut with incredible accuracy
  • Designed to assist in 24 in. rip, cross and angled cuts
  • Universal design suitable for use with most circular saws
The Kreg rip-cut turns your circular saw into a precision edge-guided cutting tool that makes straight, accurate, repeatable cuts in plywood, MDF and other large sheets. With the rip-cut, you can cut with the confidence you want and the precision you need. The rip-cut easily makes straight, accurate, repeatable cuts without measuring, marking or having to keep the saw on the cut line. The rip-cut does this with a long edge guide that follows the straight edge of the sheet you are cutting. So, all you have to do is lock the saw in at the measurement you want up to 24 in. using the built-in measuring scale and then make your cut. With a built-in measuring scale, you don't have to measure and mark each cut, either. Just lock the saw sled at your desired cut width and you're all set, whether you need to cut 1-piece or make multiple pieces of the exact same size. Plus, the rip-cut makes it easier to cut down large sheets by yourself. The rip-cut is very easy to use. Simply mount your saw to the universal sled it accepts most left-blade or right-blade saw-sand then slide the sled onto the aluminum rail. After a simple 1-time calibration, you can lock in your cut width (up to 24 in.) using the measuring scale and precision cursor. Then, just hold the edge guide against the edge of your sheet as you guide the saw. You will get straight, accurate, repeatable cuts easily every time.
  • Straight, accurate, repeatable rip cuts and crosscuts made easy
  • Make rip cuts and crosscuts up to 24 in. W
  • Cut multiple pieces to the same size with just 1-setup
  • Use the oversize edge guide for precise control throughout the cut
  • Eliminate need for marking, measuring and layout lines
  • Take your saw to the material instead of having to take your material to the saw
  • Universal sled accepts most circular saw left or right blade
  • Reversible edge guide for left- or right-handed use
  • California residents see Prop 65 WARNINGS

Questions & Answers

Can you remove the saw?

Once you mount and calibrate the saw into the sled, can you easily remove the saw for if you want to cut freehand? If so do you have to recalibrate the sled everytime?
Asked by: JeremyFromMontana
It's easy to remove and repeat the saw. I don't believe you have to do any recalibration.

Would this work to rip thicker lumber (like a 2”x board) as well?

Asked by: Beth
There is no reason for it not to rip 2" lumber as long as your saw is set at the right depth.

How do I set it up for angle cuts.
Asked by: Kit
I don’t think you can do this, the guide is just a straight rip cut.

My wife got this for me for Father’s Day because I had been looking at it online and at one of our local stores. I was excited to install this on my Milwaukee M18™ Brushless 7-1/4" Circular Saw and imagine my surprise when it does not fit. When you tighten down the base-plate clamps, the sled will tilt away from the bottom of the saw. I am using the supplied filler strip for the angled leading edge that my saw has. The provided filler strip does not have enough of an angle to allow the sled to fit flat against the bottom of my saw when tightened. I have other Kreg products and love them, but I have been extremely disappointed with this one

Real over-design and clever so that they could use a molded plastic clamp to secure the rail/bar to the saw plate. I bought anyway and sure enough the plastic cam lever broke. Waiting to see if there is a replacement. $40 failure for a $0.50 part. This is a real shame. I love their pocket screw jig. Maybe I can jury rig something out of a hardwood wedge, tapered seat screws, washers and wing nuts.

I am truly amazed how simple it is to use and on point with the end product. You will need to calibrate the -0- starting point to your saw but that is simple work. I do all my project on my own so this is like have a personal assist. The cut was straight. I should have gotten this a long time ago. Also, their site has many plans.

I found it easy to use and conveniently adjusted. The multi purpose sled allows the saw to be used with this guide and the Kreg Accu-Cut. I would recommend the Kreg cutting systems to anyone that is interested in an easy to use system for cutting large items.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not useful at all. The mounting plate is cheap... Not useful at all. The mounting plate is cheap plastic that bends when you tighten the securing bolts. There is a plastic wedge for saws that have a tapered front edge which is meant to fix this issue but its not the right angle for my saw. Returned and will build my own out of plywood for 1/2 the cost.

As I got ready to screw the aluminum cross bar onto the plastic end guide, on a whim I decided to see if the setup would be square. To my shock, it was not even close, as measured by a squaring tool. A quick visual also confirmed this. It was clear by eye that the aluminum cross piece did not sit squarely on the end guide. Since two of the connections are plastic pins on alternate corners, there is no way to correct for this. So I returned the product. Did I get a lemon? Possibly. But I didn't bother to try another one. I have Kreg's Accu-Cut product, which seems to work reasonably well (haven't had a chance to use it much yet, though), and while not as convenient for cutting repeatable strips as the Rip-Cut would be, I can get by with the Accu-Cut, plus it's more versatile anyway. The mounting system for attaching the saw to the plastic base plate "works", but only marginally. It doesn't really secure the saw all that well, but I guess it's okay. Surely a better design than the marginal set screws could be created. The same base plate is used for the Accu-Cut. I own several Kreg clamps which work well, (actually better than anything else I've tried), and the Accu-Cut seems to be a decent product, so I was a bit surprised to have to return the Rip-Cut.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I really like the other Kreg products I have purchased... I really like the other Kreg products I have purchased but this one didn’t work for me. First it didn’t fit my new Dewalt 60v circular saw and second one of the hold down screws striped. No matter what I tried I just couldn’t get the saw to sit straight in the jig.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This is my 2nd one. I am a fan... This is my 2nd one. I am a fan of Kreg but this piece frustrates me. On both pieces the sliding mechanism pops off frequently and eventually because I have to keep snapping it back into place the plastic wears down and it will no longer snap into place. Grrrrr!
