Waiting for this To Remove Spider Rust on Aluminum/Chrome Wheels
Please note: I had to give all poor ratings because this did not work on my wheel rust.
I used this product on aluminum alloy wheels with spider rust. Nothing happened! Followed instructions for Aluminum/Chrome. I subsequently used some fine steel wool to make sure the rust surface area was exposed, and reapplied Krud Kutter. Nothing happened! Several applications were done with no results.

I used Krud Kutter on my 1921 Singer treadle sewing machine project. The cast iron base was very rusty and it cleaned it up for repainting beautifully. I also used it, a bit nervously, on the actual sewing machine and was very pleased with those results as well. I couldn't be happier with the final results. I definitely recommend it!

A MUST NOT!
This product work great for simply delaying the rust removal process. I thought it would at least do something! I followed the directions per the label and it did....NOTHING! I will say, once I was done with the waiting, I used a progression of sandpaper starting with 120 grit and worked my way up to 400 grit and the results were great! Unfortunately, those results had nothing to do with this product and everything to do with the 3m sandpaper I purchased 2 isles over. So, use your money to buy the 3m sandpaper and use elbow grease because this product isnt worth the bottle it comes in

Hmm, that doesn't sound right. It is important to maintain a wet solution when applying the Rust-Oleum Krud Kutter the Must for Rust on to metal to fully remove the rust. Medium to light rust will be dissolved in 30 minutes or less.

This product might work on other metals, but it did absolutely nothing for our porch's iron railing.
First, we removed the flaking rust with a crimped wire wheel and a drill, and then we followed that with a good scrub with a wire brush. The first photo shows the iron railing after these treatments: most of the rust is gone, but some rust residue remains.
After the wire scrubbing, we used Krud Kutter's The Must for Rust. We applied according to the directions on the back of the bottle, and we waited. Applied another coat, keeping things wet like the bottle instructs, and we waited some more. Nothing. The second photo shows the iron railing after Krud Kutter. Looks just the same as before Krud Kutter.
Thank goodness the bottle is tiny and we're out only $5.

That is not what we like to hear! Our Krud Kutter Must for Rust should dissolve rust from any metal surface. This product uses phosphoric acid to dissolve the rust from the surface. Light to medium rust should be dissolved from iron in 30 minutes. If rust remains on the surface, a reapplication of the Must for Rust should be applied to the surface to completely remove the rust from the surface.

No scrubbing!
I used this to get the rust off of the metal parts of a hand plane. I cleaned off the dirt and debris then put them all together in a zip lock bag and poured in the liquid. Warning, it smells awful, use it outside! Also, perhaps I used a cheap plastic bag but the liquid started to leak out of the bag (I suppose if it can eat away rust it can also eat through a plastic bag).
I had these soaking for close to two hours. Even after first pouring in the liquid I could see it working right away as you could see the chemical reaction with fizzing and bubbles.
This isn't the most economical option as it is a small size, my local store has a different brand in a larger jug, so I might have to move to that one for future projects.
Look at the pictures, I did no scrubbing, just took them out of the solution and rinsed them off.

Sort of Works
After 2 hours of application time and some work with a wire brush, the rust was gone from part of the metal can I used it on. Could not seem to work on the top part and I lost patience. So, though it did make an improvement it is not a miracle cure.

Works well with no elbow grease!
I wanted to see how this product worked on HEAVY RUST with very little effort on my part i.e. -no wire brushing, steel wool etc. I followed the instructions and cleaned the rusty chain with soap and a green Scotch Brite heavy duty scouring pad first. Then I soaked it for 30 mins and there was some improvement so I repeated the whole procedure again for a total of 4- 30 minute soaks and cleanings, Considering how rusty the chain was and after the treatments I definitely saw good results. If I were to use a wire brush on it I'm sure it would remove even more...but like I said I wanted to test the product and not anything else. Look at the chain before/after in the pictures. Keep in mind that chain was outside for years and was very rusty. for light rust this would perform even better. It comes in a convenient spray bottle with 3 settings, off, spray and stream. Follow the directions and also do not breathe in the fumes, the container should be covered.

The Must for Rust is exactly that
I had some rust on one side of my truck bumper. So I thought I'd try this rust remover until I can get the whole bumper repainted.
I washed the road grime off the bumper as the directions said. Then applied per directions and waited the 30 minutes. I may be in California where it's warmer in December, but not the 70 degrees that was optimum. So it took another application and another 30 minutes. Rust gone. Rinsed per directions and waited for it to dry. Then I applied a light coat of white paint that I had on hand, not quite the same white as the bumper, but it is now looking much better.
No scrubbing, except the road grime, no sanding, no real work. I think that I can sand the areas and repaint, with the correct shade of white, instead of having the whole bumper redone when the weather warms up, spray paint doesn't like the high 60s either.

Absolutely "A Must For Rust"!
We live on the Texas coast and do we have rust! Tried this on some hinges that needed to be repainted. Though we waited too long to treat these hinges, Krud Kutter worked very well to get most of the rust off. You could watch it work. Showed before and after photos and treated the hinges two times. Can't wait to try this on some of our other rusty items.

It Works
To the guy that used it on Aluminum, it doesn't rust but it does corrode and when it's to badly corroded nothing will bring it back, the metal is usually to thin to revive. Steel a much more durable metal, will hold up to rust better, and this stuff works very well, on mild rust it cleaned up in a fairly short time, on the heavy crusted parts it took soaking or many application. The metal if badly rusted will show the damage the rust did, indents, pits, groves etc. but at least now you can see if the part will be salvageable. To the guy that wished it was a gel, they do have a gel version and it comes in all sizes even 5 gal bucket, and I think 55 gal. I bought 4 gals, and think I need more? I'm trying to bring back a 77 Caddy Eld in pristine condition and 24000 mile Only problem is it was Flooded in the storm!
So far the stuff has been removing the corrosion, from Elec. Connectors, and any surface rust I come across. Next will be to pump it thought the motor and trans to hope it removes any corrosion that might be in there. NOTE THE COMPANY SAID I SHOULD NOT DO THAT!!
But I feel the way I'm going to do it will work out fine. I can't see how the stuff could do any more damage then the salt water that's been sitting in it for the last year? Wish me luck, and the stuff works! Wish I had bought some of the Gel product for some areas. It also leaves behind a protective barrier to prevent rusting from recurring for they say a year, we'll see. But I'd rather paint the parts and that's that Right. Oh I forgot if you let it dry (which they recommend for prevention) you can see the coating, as I can see the white coating on the Brake Rotors I did 3 weeks ago, still no rust, so it does work! <GRIN>
