Dashes shown for Outdoor Temperature • Dashes means the connection is lost between the temperature station and the outdoor transmitter. • Batteries often resolve the connection. • Distance/Resistance can cause loss of connection between the transmitter and the temperature station. • Reorientation of the temperature station 90 degrees towards the outdoor transmitter may provide better reception. • Try the quick connect (Hold + button to begin Outdoor Sensor search) or factory restart (please visit our La Crosse Technology YouTube page for Basic Restart - What To Do When Outdoor Sensor Readings Show Dashes). This particular thermometer/sensor do not offer any multi-channel feature. If you are in doubt of proper connection from sensor to display, it would be best to do a complete restart: 1) bring only those you want paired, both sensor and display together (away from electrical frequency interferences), 2) remove all batteries from sensor and display. While batteries are out, press any button on display to discharge residual electricity. 3) Install batteries into sensor, then display and leave them alone within 3 ft for about 15 minutes. After that time, temperatures may be reading almost the same in degrees. You can test by placing sensor into freezer for approximately 10-15 minutes and read on display for adjusting values. Repeat with other sensor/displays (*keep away from frequency interferences) We can also recommend (Internet #322666751 - Model #308-04747-INT) that offers 2 sensors that read onto 1 display, for freezer/refrigerator units.
