I highly recommend. Takes a few minutes to set up, but safety is so important. I have used it on grass and have no fear of the bottom of the ladder moving given the four long stakes holding it securely. High quality, heavy duty construction

I am sixty five with a ranch style home. I am painting my home and bought ladder lockdown for safety panting my gable ends. It works as advertised. What I like is that is not permanently attached to the ladder which is better for storage. I really like the deep steaks to secure the bottom of the ladder on bare ground. It is good to 24 ft.

Cheap Strap
The type of strap included with this is the cheapest strap on the market. Upgrade to a ratchet strap if you really want to be safe on this product. The maker states in his video how much he cares about the safety of workers, how about you care to spend an extra three dollars for a better strap.

I feel that any product that increases one's safety while working at heights can easily be worth the money. Because I'm a general consumer and not a professional reviewer I can't attest to all the potential uses but I got this was to repair a gutter leak over my front porch. The ladder saddle was sitting on a conglomerate type walkway with some moss covering it (I'm in the Pacific NW) and using a full extension on my ladder I'd estimate my feet were five feet off the ground. The Saddle was rubber strips on its bottom and I definitely felt that the grounding was more secure than if I wasn't using using it. That was good; however, repositioning the ladder is a bit more hassle with it attached. The strap with the "S" hooks which attaches the ladder to the saddle had little tension on it so that the saddle tended to flop or dangle when I was moving the ladder. The instructions say that tension isn't needed on the strap; I guess that's because it's purpose is too arrest movement of the ladder in case it wants to slip. Regardless, I replaced the strap with a ratcheting type strap and used light tension on the strap--which made the ladder easier to move and I think provided a better safety margin against the ladder somehow slipping. Maybe the Ladder Lockdown doesn't come with a ratcheting type strap because they're afraid users will over torque the strap and damage the saddle. Just use minimal tension if using a racket strap. I didn't use the ladder on unpaved ground yet, but I think this is where the saddle will really shine, the saddle will keep the ladder's feet from sinking and the spikes should keep the saddle in place. The instructions say it'll work for an "A" type ladder and not just extension ladders, but it seems to me you'll want to purchase two saddles if using with the "A" type ladder. Overall, I think this product is a good idea and I like it. If I was really sure about the footing for my ladder I would probably skip using it, but otherwise safety first.

I don't know if this item actually improves safety or not. I did, however, feel much more secure climbing my ladder and working on my home with this item. It got me over the mental hump of not wanting to be on a ladder and I was able to complete a number of exterior household repairs.

If you need this, don’t climb ladders!
Levelers with cleats are great, this is not if you can not see the difference, do your family a favor and stay off the ladder.

Was looking for a ladder stabilizer as I use a ladder by myself around the house and have not been disappointed! I have used it on brick, concrete and softer surfaces and it has worked great on all... I use it on grass mostly but it would be effective on dirt or woodchips too. Really adds a lot of stability and gives me confidence it wont slip out from underneath me.

        What a difference!
Laddering around the house is a new ballgame. Whether trimming a tree with a 16’ extension or cleaning a skylight with a 6’ A-Frame, my ladder has become extremely stable. Even bought one for my Father-In-Law!
