will it fit all size drains?

I purchased a lint trapper SKU 453977 at the Dunkirk NY store. There were several on display. Some of these had broken fins.

Were these trappers taken off display and replaced with good ones? I will need to buy another one before too long.
Asked by: gmeyers1944
Buy one with no broken fins. Do not knock the device to get lint off. Use a comb or brush.

Can this be used with a stand pipe drain? Our drain hose goes directly into a vertical PVC pipe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keep it simple and I will simply keep it I used socks for years and had all the bad experiences I have read in reviews. Some how I ran in to one of these traps and out of frustration made the choice to try it even though I was not 100 % sure it would work. With the thumbs up from the sales associate at HD I came home with my first tube type trapper. OMG. !! Best ever !! No muss no fuss, did meet and exceed all claims made by the mfg. One word of caution ...... DO NOT I repeat DO NOT bang it on the sink to shake out the lint...oops! Two slats broke, still worked long enough for me to go back to HD and buy 2 more (1for back up) in case my wife bangs it on the sink!!! Honest value.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing I've been using the metal screen laundry lint traps for years, and they fill up very fast. At the recommendation of an HD salesperson, I bought this trap. Although the device fit securely in my drain opening, it trapped very little lint over the course of 2 weeks. Experiment over; I went back to using the metal screens. I figured it was worth $8 to see if it worked, but my recommendation is: save your money and don't buy this product. That being said, I recognize some people are very happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded my expectations If a product does what I bought it to do, and I was willing to pay what it cost, I'll give it solid 3's in every category. NOTHING ever gets 5's. Nothing is ever better than I expected, or costs less than I was willing to spend to solve the problem, or lasts long enough to be considered durable. This silly piece of plastic gets all 5's. It cost me less than $8. In over a year of service it has never failed to do what I bought it to do.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Already paid for itself Years ago I used to use the standard lint traps sold at grocery and hardware stores. Problem was that despite working they would clog up within a week or so (too many kids/too many laundry loads). In frustration one day after the discharged water blasted upwards towards the ceiling due to a blocked trap I just quit using them. Fast forward (I knew better) and the lint finally clogged the laundry tub drain and we had an overflow... Back to the old lint traps I went and sure enough within the first week it was full. Now at roughly $1.50 a set I would go through $3.00 a month or $36 a year. Not a heck of allot of money but enough to irritate me. Bent on finding a better solution I tripped across this item while Googling a better mouse trap. At about $7 I gave it a shot. It fit perfectly into the drain slot of my laundry tub. Results> First it has a handle: Easy In and easy Out, Ok cool. Now some laundry. Week 1: Trapped about as much lint as the socks did. I pulled it out, wiped it off and put back in. Week 2: Same results Week 3: Again... Week 4: Yet again... Week 5: This is getting old.... Week 6: You get my point... Beyond the handle it has a tube at the top that if ever you forget to clean it, the water will run down and act as an overflow drain. Simple and brilliant. Here's the bigger picture> This thing is made in the USA! But it's plastic. Treat it well and I'm sure it will last for sometime. Just periodically clean it as you do (should) your dryer lint trap & exhaust. It will without doubt outlast those dumb replaceable socks and you'll certainly recoup the investment (7 bucks) in no time. Quit throwing foreign made junk away every week or two and buy this tool. At the end of the day it just works, will save you money and hassle.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Trapper was ok, no problems with old pipes to this date. Lint trapper was to stop the overflow from stocking lint trap currently used. It does do the job, but I am afraid it is letting too much overall lint through to my drain pipes (old). You need a brush/comb to clean, but I guess it is doing its job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best lint trap I have found! I have used this for about 6 months now and it works great! Leaps and bounds better than all the other lint traps I have tried for my utility sink which my clothes washer drains to. It is easy to clean and in event I forget to clean it there is an overflow so my sink does end up spilling over.

The disposable sheath gets most of the lint. This lint trapper is extra insurance just in case. For the price, I sleep better.
