The Legrand Wiremold 500 series raceway is ideal for surface mounting small amounts of electrical wiring or communication cables. Surface metal raceway allows you to add fixtures and outlets without disturbing the drywall, plaster or insulation in your home. It is also ideal for adding wire when you can't go into the wall, such as on concrete foundations or brick walls. Combine with other 500 series connectors, fittings, and channel to ensure you have the right customization for every project.

This is perfect for installing a surface mount, low profile power outlet just about anywhere. It is very robust with its steel housing and the raceway that nicely hide and protects your cabling. It is very easy to install and it looks great as well. So if you need to quickly install an outlet, and do not want, or cannot do it in wall, this is the perfect solution.
I give it 5 stars all the way for quality, ease of installation and great looks. I highly recommend it!

good for 14/2 lighting circuit. not good for 12/2 appliances
too small for 12/2 outlet wires for appliances. the outlet is almost flush with the back plate so wires would need to come from the top but there's no room and if the outlet is backfeed then how can it come from the back if the plate is 3mm from the outlet? Only a 14ga wire could make that 90 degree turn.
The outlet is real cheap $1 variety 15amp that would be ok for a light of fan but I don't trust it for a toaster.
I think the deeper legrand boxes plus a leviton 20A outlet is the way to go if you are adding an appliance outlet or outlets with 12/2 individual wire
maybe this can be attached to an inset box so it's not a total waste. but the receptacle is junk.

Easy to install, and low profile, but there is limited room for wires since it is only about an inch thick.
I installed two of these on my garage ceiling for my garage door openers. It was a pain to get the wires neatly tucked into the box, especially having to work overhead. If I had to do it over, I would get the extra deep box and purchase my own outlet. The outlets are cheaper looking than the Levitons or other brands, but I figured that these were for my garage door openers, so they won't really see the wear and tear of a regular outlet. But having struggled to get the wires neatly tucked in, the installation looks pretty good.

Low profile box with super cheap looking outlet
It's NEC code that outlets must be tamper proof, so unfortunately this is junk. I can't fit in a TR outlet either because it's so low profile. I threw away the box, so I can't return it.
