Does the bottom flat part of the conduit detach from the top curved part ? Can you separate the two pieces? Thanks.

Can romex be run thru it? If so how many 14/2 cables?

Asked by: Omar
Romex is just a brand name for common 14/2, 14/3, 12/2 and other household electrical wiring--Southwire and other brands do the job just as well. I recently used this product to run a single 14/2 cable down to a light switch from a basement light that I wanted to control from within the room. I think there was enough room to run a cable through it twice, but it'd be tight...didn't need to, so I didn't spend much time thinking about it. But, be sure you get the larger 700-series if you're going to use it with two wires--they make a thinner 500-series that surely wouldn't fit multiple wires.

Would this be better than the regular plastic Cordmate to use on an exterior wall (under a protected patio up against the home by the sliding doors)? Also, is it adhesive-based or how is it mounted? I was thinking of using construction adhesive for better fix outdoors. I imagine it has better protection than the plastic but I only need it to hold one 1/4" standard extension cord and the metal would naturally be heavier than plastic Cordmate so it might be overkill.

I think so.
