Will the splitter need to be sharpened after awhile?

AnswerThe SMART Splitter wedge will not need to be sharpened as long as you are using it properly and do not hit anything that can chip or damage the blade (nails or foreign objects in the wood). If you feel the need to sharpen the blade you can do so with a file or grinder.

This log splitter is very easy to use, especially for the casual user. We get wood on our property, but don't feel comfortable swinging a sharp axe for hours to split logs for our fireplace. The Logosol safely and reliably splits logs just as described. We have had it for several weeks now and love it. It might not be as fast as using an axe, but anyone can do it. Everything needed to install it on a large log is provided.

Assembled easily, used the included drill bit to create a mounting hole in a splitting stump. I was concerned about generating the force required to split logs with a drop hammer, but the tool was surprisingly effective. I easily split logs up to 9-10" (what I had) in diameter with some branching and knots to deal with, all-in-all this is exactly what I need for occasional splitting.
