Caseta Smart Fan Speed Control, for Pull Chain Fans, 1.5-Amp/Single Pole, White (PD-FSQN-WH-R)

I have purchased 3 of these fan controls, and installed 2, so far. Installation is reasonably quick, and the finished product looks very nice and works GREAT‼️

Combined with a smart bridge and Alexa, these Caseta controls have turned my home into basically a robot that obeys my every command. My neighbors live in fear. Soon, I will obtain more, and the world will be mine. Then you will all pay. I can not be stopped. Thank you, Lutron.

This is a perfect addition to a “Smart Home”. We already were using Lutron Caseta dimmers throughout our house, controlled using Apple Homekit with Siri (via the Lutron bridge), so their fan control was a natural addition when it came out. BUT, reading the fine print on the Caseta Wireless Quick-Start Guide we discovered the following limitations: the control doesn’t work with “fans that have integrated speed controls other than a pull chain” or with “DC motor fans”. That accounted for all 3 of the indoor fans we already had installed. Bummer! We had been planning to add an outdoor fan on our patio, so we looked for one that would work with the new Caseta control. What we found was that, while the control will actually work with any fan that uses a pull-chain and most that use wall-mounted speed controls, individual manufacturers will tell you otherwise. I called Hunter, who make a many of the fans sold by Home Depot. Their customer service rep told me that NONE of their fans would work with Lutron controls and if I did use one, it would void their warranty. When I called Lutron they said that their controls are fine with Hunter’s fans that don’t have integrated wireless speed controls, and that Hunter just says that so that they can sell their own wall-mounted (optional) speed controllers – which I tend to believe. Finally, rather than fight an uphill battle, we just skipped Hunter and ended up ordering a Tilo compact outdoor-rated fan which turned out to work flawlessly with the Caseta fan controller. I believe Hunter fans would too, but didn’t want to deal with a company that was so un-cooperative. The Caseta physical wall control is easy to use for turning the fan on/off and stepping its speed up and down in increments, but even easier is doing it via the Lutron app on your iPhone (Android is also supported, but we don’t have Android phones.) See the attached screenshot of using the iPhone app. Easier still is using Siri via Apple’s HomeKit. If you have a Lutron Caseta hub, Apple’s Homekit will talk to all of your Caseta devices and let you use Siri with them. See the attached screenshot where I had Siri turn the fan off. So, when we are sitting outside during the summer we don’t have to get up to turn the fan on, or speed it up – just ask Siri to do it. That is a “Smart Home”!

This is a high quality smart switch. Be sure before you purchase this smart switch that you understand that if you are going to use it with Alexis or Google home you will need a Smart Bridge (L-BDG2-WH, sold separately). You can also use the switch with a remote [wireless Fan Pico remote (PJ2-3BRL-GXX-F01), sold separately]. If you have neither of these then you will have to use the switch manually. The switch has 4 speed settings but one withdraw with this switch is the second speed on the switch slows the fan down almost to a complete stop.

We love the Caseta Wireless System. The newest product, Smart Fan Speed Control is an excellent addition to our system. We have multiple components and this one has made fan control much easier. The fan control switch was easy to install. Just make sure you follow the directions so you don't damage the switch by wiring it incorrectly. Overall install took less than 30 minutes, including adding it to the Lutron App on my phone. This switch, like all their switches, is easy to use and operate. Same great functions and features of their lighting switches. Control from your smart phone or device from anywhere. Program schedules and include it in your scenes. Control it from a pico wireless fan remote Great Smart Product to help manage your heating and cooling costs.

Caseta Wireless Smart Fan Speed Control, Single-Pole, White. I'm a fan (pun intended) of wireless controlled switches! We have 4 others before this one arrived. Imagine sitting on the couch in your great room, watching tv and you realized you forgot to turn the fun on, or left it on too high and its not comfortable.. No need to put down the nachos, just open the app and modify the fan setting until you're good!

The caseta wireless smart fan speed control single pole switch is really nice. It controls the fan as I expected. It has four speed settings, on and off, a medium setting with a push of a button. Speed is adjustable with up and down arrow buttons. Additionally when connected with a Lutron caseta wireless smart bridge the switch can be controlled by a mobile phone using the Lutron caseta app. It is a great tool and I really like using it with my iPhone. It also works with Alexa and Google mini. Installation is straight forward with three wires, but if you're not familiar with installing switches it is best to hire an electrician.

I like the functionality of this fan speed switch. It gives me an additional speed that I didn’t have with my previous switch. 4 different speeds are available. My fan is a lot quieter with this switch as well. My old switch would make the fan hum on the lower speed settings, this one doesn’t. I wasn’t able to test the wireless capabilities of this in wall fan control because I don’t have a Lutron smart bridge. One can be purchased for around 79.99. A Pico wireless remote that doesn’t require the hub can be purchased for around 15.30. I dropped a star on this review because the name of the product is Casey’s wireless fan control. Without purchasing additional products, this switch is not wireless out of the box.

Lutron is the leader in lighting control. The Lutron Caseta Wireless switch is part of Lutron's home automation. To take full advantage you will need to purchase the Lutron Smart Bridge ($50) to work via your phone or tablet. This switch will also work stand alone and that is the way I have it installed. Instructions were very easy to follow. Just make sure you have a hot, neutral, ground and switch conductor in your box. Very stylish and a much simpler way to operate the speed of the fan then pulling on a chain. The switch allows you to control the direction of fan, plus hi, med, or low speeds. Absolutely love the favorite button. Just hit it and forget it. Highly recommended this product.
