Answer This Question

A:  Hi Steve, the MMs100 is powered by the contril box which is powerd by the battery, even with a solar panel you would need a battery so your gate can open on a cloudy day. Installation vidoes are available on Mighty Mule.com and Youtube. Thank you

          Will not work
The Mighty Mule app is not compatable with most Android smart phones. Before you buy this, try to download the Mighty Mule app to your smart phone. You will get a message that the app was written for older android devices and is not compatible with yours. Also, the base was designed to work with slower internet speeds and will fequently loose connections if you have high speed internet and a high speed router. Basically, this product is obsolete, won't work, and yet MM continues to sell it to unsuspecting buyers with not disclosure of this crtical info. This is a very bad reflection on MM and Nice North America.

Great addition to our mighty mule automatic gate. This wireless connectivity system allows us to use our mobile phone anywhere to open our gate. The system can communicate with the gate within a 1/2 mile radius of your home, or the connectivity module. Installations was simple, connecting a wireless module at the gate and then pairing the internet connected module in our home. The module in your home requires an electrical outlet and power at all times, as well as internet connection. The mobile app is easy and simple to use!

ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH SELECT MIGHTY MULE GATE OPENERS. Make sure that this kit is the one that you need for your particular Mighty Mule system. When we got it it was not clear that it is only compatible with a select few gate openers. We have a Mighty Mule gate opener and garage door opener which is WiFi ready so I thought this would work for one or both of them, however neither of our systems are compatible. However the install on this guy is crazy easy. You place the transmitter into the gate opener panel into a pre-prepared spot, plug the receiver end somewhere between the gate and your wifi source, download the Mighty Mule App and pair to wifi, and you're all set. The system is supposed to auto-pair with your gate, but there are instructions in case it does not. Be aware this transmitter will only work for one system though, you can not use it for both a gate and a garage door opener, and this particular model ONLY works on select gate openers, not any garage door models. Hoping to pick up the correct wifi kit soon as it would be great to get warnings if our garage door is opened during the day when we are not home, or to be able to open it for visitors that we know are at our house.

We are quickly adapting everything in the house to be controlled by the phone. This is simple to install and set up and very convenient not only for the homeowner but you can easily give other service people or family members access to enter your property using their cell phone. Basically download the app from the app store and you gain more control of your entry gate. I think its a nice feature and would recommend it.

Got this kit to open my gate "wirelessly". The wireless antenna was a bit tricky to install in the gate power panel. But once installed seems fine. My house with wifi router is approx. 400 ft from the gate, in my garage and works great, so the range on this is good.. The app download takes quite a while to load and is over 10 MB, so it is a bit memory hogging for a phone app. One downside is you need you hotspot on your phone on. The app opens and closes the gate well.

There are two parts to this setup. One is a small radio receiver located on / at the gate that plugs into your control board there. The other part is called The Bridge and needs to be located near your home wifi. You pair the bridge with the wifi, download the app, and then you can open and close your gate from anywhere! I am not sure about the 1/4 mile range of and non focused beam wifi.

This Mighty Mule Connectivity set will work with a single gate & not a duel gate (this factored into our decision to install a single gate instead of buying 2 connectivity sets.) It allows us to open & close the gate from the house which is nearly 400 feet away. Just go to the Mighty Mule app & Its easy to connect the bridge module to the WiFi after screwing on the antenna & placing it near your router and plugging it in. Installing the radio module into the control box was equally as easy. There are 3 power levels that can be adjusted to pick up your WiFi signal.

Mexico, thanks for the rating and review. A dual gate is a SINGLE operating system so a dual (mm372W or MM572W) would need just one MMS100, Another way to restate this information is one MMS100 for each control box. If you have a dual gate with one control box (which operates dual gate) you only need one MMS100. Hope this helps to clarify. Thank you for pointing this out.

Our gate is about 600 feet from our house. There are trees and shrubs between the house and the gate. I like the idea of being able to open the gate from anywhere I have cell service and giving anyone else access to the gate from wherever I happen to be located. This system is easy to install, as the antenna plugs in to the gate opener and the antenna at the house is easy to sync to the WiFi, after plugging it in. When we first installed everything we had a couple issues getting the signal from the house to the gate. It does say it has a range of 1/2 a mile. We set the strength to high to get the best signal to the gate from the house and vise versa. When we installed the app on our phone, it sends a confirmation email for the account. It did go to our spam file and we had to go search for it before we were able to confirm the account to get everything set up. Once we had it set up, it worked several times without any issues. We did get notifications that the gate was either open or closed, but the notifications were lagging in time by about 3 to 4 minutes. The reason I gave it a lower rating is there is some issue with the connectivity. I do not know if it is the signal between the gate and the house or with the app. The app shows we do not have contact with the gate at times. The concept of the product is great. I think there are a few issues that need to be worked out to get better connectivity. WiFi over 1/2 a mile take a lot of power. I am not sure the bridge unit has the capability to get up to this power rating. If your gate is closer to the house it may work really well. I would like to see a hard wire option for the unit with a small gauge wire. It may be something with the terrain at my place that is causing the intermittent reliability.

I’ve had the Mighty Mule gate opener for about ten months but I have always been disappointed with my inability to control the gate remotely from my phone with an app. With the Mighty Mule Wireless Connectivity Kit, that problem is now solved. I’m now able to control and monitor my gate wherever I have internet service. My driveway gate is about 300 feet from my wireless router and has pretty good “line of sight” so the location for set up was no problem. The physical set up and the app set up were both simple and straightforward. The physical set up is basically plugging the unit into the opener and the other unit into the router. When I initially started the unit, it did not connect on low power but when I changed it to medium, it connected with the gate opener. I believe there are more features on the app than just opening and closing the gate but I haven’t really explored that yet. So far, this connectivity kit has been working fine and I’m really happy with this addition to my gate opener.

The small radio module installs into your operator control board at your main gate and comes with an antenna. The Bridge box needs to be near your wireless router and also has its own antenna. After you download the Mighty Mule app you can continue to set up your Bridge box. The light on the box flashed red while searching for the signal (we had to have someone helps us set this up as I’m not that tech savvy, it finally connected after he adjusted the power level on the control box as the units were a bit further away from each other). I do like that it has an App that can make it easier to view what’s going on with your gate while away.
