Q:Can this rack be attached to a plastic/resin shed?

      Answer This Question

A:  If you bolt it on with large washers on the outside of the shed? Not sure if the weight of the bikes would deform the shed wall though.

      by|Jul 28, 2021

A:  I wouldn’t unless you have wood to reinforce it. The weight is substantial once you have bikes up so you’d need to go into studs

        by|Jan 14, 2021

A:  I think it works work, but height and weight with bikes might be problematic.

A:  As long you have the right screws

Q:How far out from the wall does the storage rack hang (just the rack, not the bikes themselves)?

              Answer This Question

A:  The rack by itself only extends about 6" from the wall, however, when you add the necessary hook, it ends up being about 11" from the wall.

A:  About 7 inches. I have attached a photo. I position them high enough that I can park my minivan without a problem.

                by|Aug 6, 2021

A:  The cross bar is approximately 5 inches from the wall and the hooks stick out 6 more inches for a total of about 11 inches.

A:  The rack bar is about 2.25 inches from the wall and the hooks stick out about 6 inches

A:  Yes, but you would need to drill into the concrete and put metal inserts in.

A:  Yes, with the proper hardware. Mike

This is a great indoor bike rack for me. I suggest pre-drilling just a bit before using the screws supplied. Other than getting use to putting a bike on and taking it off it's great for me.

It was really easy to put up. I had it installed inside of 15 minutes. Now I have much more space since our bikes are all on the wall.

                              Wrong hooks
Rack arrived quickly but is not as advertised. The hooks in the photo on the Monkeybar website are straight out from the plate that holds them which puts them at 45 degrees to the wall, which is perfect for holding a bicycle tire. THe hooks on that came in the box are bent at 45 degrees to the plate that holds them which make them parallel to either the wall or the floor. at this angle and distance from the wall it is pretty much impossible to mount a bike with mountain bike tires on the hook. I have sent two emails to Moneybars and have yet to receive a response?? Can I get straight hooks?

                              Buyer beware
This product is complete junk! They took a system for hanging lawn tools, added a different hook, and called it a bike rack. The supplied hook does not securely hold a bike. Bikes do not hang straight even when the the brackets themselves are level. They have grossly overestimated it's capacity and weight capacity. I hung three adult mountain bikes, a child's bike and a unicycle and the main bar bows badly. The metal components in this system simply were not made for this kind of weight. Also, getting six actual adult mountain bikes on the bar is theoretically possible, but you better hope you never need to get one down. It is such a tangled mess that it is nearly impossible to just remove one bike. I wish someone had posted a review here detailing the actual abilities and quality of this system before I spent nearly $90 on about $10 worth of materials.

I bought the 6 bike rack to hold 4 bikes, and the space is sufficient. In planning out the installation, however, I forgot to take into account the angle of the hooks, however, and the installation instructions too generic to take into account the various types of bikes in our family. I wish I had mounted the bar higher. Overall, by mounting the bar to a 2x6 that allowed me to attach the bar to 4 studs rather than 3, the rack is stable and strong enough to hold all 4 of my family’s bikes, including a heavy eBike with its battery attached.

No way you are getting six bikes on this rack was barely able to get 4 kids bikes in here. Also would be nice if there was a way to lock the hooks once you have them in a desired location as they slide tremendously when you are trying to get your bike up.
