Can this be used to dust the inside of a concrete mold, to get variations of color, making lines of color like you would find in real stone? I'm thinking about using it to make variations in the Air-Crete I will be using to make stone veneers, and want variations throughout the molded "stone".
Asked by: PaulD
It's worth a try. This stuff is a very fine powder and gets everywhere so I would do it outside. It's pretty potent so just a little should color the surface well.

Can this be used to color sand

Asked by: Lucky
Probably, but I doubt the color would be locked into the sand without a binder like cement. Depends on what you intend to do with the colored sand?

Can this product be used to color/stain existing brick siding of a home?

Can this product be used to color/stain existing brick siding of a home?
Asked by: SWAY
You could probably use this to color brick siding. It is normally added to cement which could be smeared on. I don't now if you could make a paste out of it to smear without cement. The material is very fine and may need something to carry it. You might make a wash to color the bricks. This would leave a big mess on the ground below the bricks. Use rubber gloves.

Highly Suggested Reading! When ever using concrete color I always use double the suggested amount, never more than the max allowed. After mixing, the color appears MUCH darker than the finished product, but once it dries, the color lightens up quite a bit. A common issue DIYers have is they add just enough color to match the color they want. The problem is once it dries, the color lightens up dramatically, so it appears washed out or really faded. If you hosed down a typical gray concert slab it would go from light gray to dark gray once the water soaked in, which is a huge change in the color. So make sure you add enough color to darken it, so when it dries you will end up with the color you want. Side Note / Example: I saw a review where someone had added a half bottle of black to a 90lb bag, and they were upset that the final color was not a true black?!?!?!? it would probably take 4 bottles to even get it close. I ended up using (3) bottles of this for each 90lb bag of concrete and it came out perfect. Of course I was going for the same color red as the bottle, not a faded version. Use as little water as you can and use the exact same amount of water for each bag. Be VERY careful if you are mist curing the concrete as that added water will have an effect on the color. BUT this is true of every manufacturer. Newlook also sells a stain in the same colors as the integral colors which works great for "refreshing" the Color or if you did not use enough color initially, the stain will fix that. Cheers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great. This product mixes and colors well. I didn't measure it out as I am trying to have varying colors throughout my pathway so that made it easier as nothing has to match. I am very happy with the results.
