Would have been a better product if it would fit the advertised pipe diameter a bit more snug.

Nice polished chrome 1/2" pipe cover
These escutcheon plates are used to cover the holes where 1/2 Inch pipe comes out of the wall. Places you'll use them are the toilet pipe, under the kitchen sink, under the bathroom sink or if you have a pipe coming out of a wall. These plates do not have a split. You will need to remove the valve, then install the plate. Or, you can install the plate after you've installed the pipe. The finish is a nice polished chrome. The plate is made of metal, which is nice. Some are made of plastic - I prefer metal ones. Though some plastic plates have a split, so they can be instlled after the valve is installed. I'm giving these a five star because of the nice chrome finish, they're made of metal and it looks nice. I highly recommend this plate.

                Actual Metal
Seriously, how can you go wrong with an Oatey product. They have been around forever and have always made a quality item. This one will not disappoint. Actual metal, not some plastic stuff. This is the real deal Flange Escutcheon Plate. Chrome finished on one side, this baby shines like a diamond. It fits the pipe snug, covers the drywall rough cut, what more can you ask for.

Escutcheon Plate fits nicely and provides a nice cover on the wall.
PROS This 1/2-in. Copper Tube Escutcheon Plate is well designed and manufactured. It slides easily over the 1/2-inch copper pipe and provides a nice cover where the pipe exits the wall. The small fingers can be adjusted to provide a tighter grip on the pipe to prevent sliding or vibration. CONS The plastic packaging is not marked as to its ability to be recycled. Would prefer this product be manufactured in the USA.

                Escutcheon plate
I use these plates all the time. There are a couple reasons i like them so much. First of all when replacing an existing one, and you're not removing the valve, you can use the split (think perforated) and simple put it over the existing pipe. It will then go back to it's normal shape and hold tight. Sometimes i use a little painters caulk to stick it to the wall. The aecond reason i like them is they are plastic and don't corrode over time. The chrome ones you can buy get nasty over time. I cut them off with tin snips and then put these one. Third reason i use these is most homes today have white trim. These coordinate very well when you baseboard is white and so are your electrical swtiches.

Flexible and easy to clean Escutcheon Plate.
This is a good option for covering drain wholes and pipes as most of the time existing pipes with metal covering get rusted or damaged. This one is made of durable and good quality plastic, very flexible, and easy to split and install. I use it under my sink on both existing coper pipe as well as for covering the whole in the bottom of the cabinet for the range cable and it worked great in addition to helping out maintaining the clean and white look inside the cabinet under the sink as it is also easy to clean.

                Sleek white finish
This escutcheon has a smooth sleek finish that will not corrode like ones made out of metal. It can be used on new installs on copper pipe before the valve (angle stop) is put on or it can be placed on existing copper pipe with the valve on by just cutting the pre-grooved slit & flexing the plastic flange over the pipe & covering the hole in the wall.

                Tight opening
I keep a spare piece of 1/2 in. CTS copper pipe handy so I can use it to measure, and also to test-fit escutcheons and weld fittings before crawling down to do the actual work on the pipes coming out of my walls under sinks and toilets. The opening on this escutcheon was too small to fit the pipe through, so I forced my spare pipe’s rounded closed-end in through the face side and wiggled it all around forcefully to bend the cut tabs back more, and then it fit fine. Scratched the heck out of the pipe. Glad I had that rounded tip to work into the hole because a cut end would be quite difficult to force through that hole from the back side…and if the pipe is chrome plated, would be ruined. Looks good and nicely finished, but the hole should be a bit bigger. Hopefully it was just the one I got.
