Product Details

Cleveland Flowering Pear trees will always be among the earliest to bloom in spring, putting on an elegant and stunning display of pure white blossoms just when winter shows a hint of breaking. These fast growers are incredibly low-maintenance and drought tolerant and for these reasons they are 1 of the most popular flowering trees in the United States. Cleveland trees are a hugely popular choice for planting along pavement, concrete or sidewalks because their roots don't rise up and crack these smooth surfaces. Instead, the roots of a Cleveland tree grow deeply straight down into the ground, which means that they will keep your sidewalks looking new and they are excellently drought-tolerant.

Q:Similar to other ?s here, is this is really a Cleveland Flowering Pear tree? Cleveland Pear trees have a narrow neat shape, unlike the wider tree shape shown in photos. I need to know before I can order. Thanks!

They sent a stick, 3 months and it’s still a stick
Order was delayed, but Home Depot was very gracious and gave me 20% off to wait for it. It arrived as a stick, I dug a huge hole as I customarily do with all my trees. Three months later as you can see, it is still a stick! Please just go your local nursery and pay a few extra bucks for an actual tree with leaves

Not sure if an actual tree is going to grow as the item I received is literally just a stick. There isn't any tiny branches is marks that indicate it will grow or develop into a beautiful tree. I'm still quite skeptical at this time & unfortunately can't make any decisions at this time because it was only planted on 07/06/20. Only time will tell, fingers crossed.

Online Orchards Cleveland Select Flowering Pear Tree Bare Root I ordered two trees from the same vendor and they were shipped in the same box which was well packaged and arrived without any dings or damage. So that’s a good thing. The tree arrived and looked in a good shape and condition with its root well wrapped and protected. It is not yet spring time up here so I have not been able to plant it in the ground just yet. So watering it once a while while it stays put in a makeshift home - a pot. Can’t wait for ground to warm up a bit so I can get it in there. Hope this survives and grows :)

Online Orchards Cleveland Select Flowering Pear Tree Bare Root This an ornamental, it doesn't provide you with any edible fruit. It is a beautiful white flowering tree in early spring. Its leaves are glossy, oval-shaped and medium green before turning into distinctive bronze, red and purple shades in the fall. Dense foliage and very attractive . It grows rapidly and can be invasive if you are not careful. We will be using it along our lot line as a screen. [We do not mind this as the view we are screening is large and ugly] It will grow from 25 -40 feet high. It will also grow in the sandy soils of Florida where we live. Starting from a bare root is one of the best ways to start a tree. This tree came delivered perfectly pruned at the proper height of around 30 inches. Buds were showing within two weeks.A beautiful low maintenance tree.

I ordered 4 different trees from Online Orchards. They were shipped quickly and safely. Wrapped in hay and inside burlap that was still moist. They were all alive and 3 of the 4 were budding. I put them in pots in my garage until after the least freeze. The Cleveland that I got was less than 3 feet from the top of the roots. It is already growing and budding. It looks healthy and alive. I have high hopes for it. I think it's going to look fantastic.

The tree arrived very well packaged and appears to be very healthy...but there was no enclosed planting instructions. I went on-line to their web page and found what I needed. We are having a rather warm winter so when the tree started budding during storage in our garage, I went ahead and planted it, even though we have subsequently had nights that dipped down to the freezing mark: I covered the tree, just in case, though a comment on the web page suggested it could handle freezing temps. Looking forward to a beautiful tree in a few years.

Seeing that this tree will require many more years of growing before I can give it a full 5 stars, I’m going with 4 stars for right now. The sapling arrived in a tall box and the root system was protected with a soft potting container and wrapped in burlap. It’s still too cold to plant it in the ground as we experience frost over night so for now it will be planted in a container until I find the right spot for it when it gets warmer. There were no instructions on when/where to plant the sapling so I had to do some online research.

I received this item to review. I ordered a Flowering Pear and a Honey Locust. They came, together, in just 2 days! The packaging was good, it was a long skinny box just made for something like a tree, so there was no damage during shipping. Both trees are in very good health, they both have green supple stems and one still have green leaves. The roots were well wrapped with both tied burlap and a small pot, so the roots were well protected for shipping. The trees are about 1/2" diameter and both are over 4 feet tall. I am very happy with the purchase. I won't be able to actually plant them until the Spring thaw, but the trees are in good enough shape that they should last until then to plant.
