Product Details

Braeburn quickly became 1 of the top 5 most popular apples in the United States due to its combination of amazing consumer-oriented and commercial-orientated qualities. The most important of these is that Braeburn is all sweetness without any tart flavoring, making it absolutely delicious. The next is its beautiful red and orange streaked appearance, in fact it was the first major commercial apple cultivar to have a bi-colored appearance. Its exceptionally firm texture, long-shelf life, and overall resilience are what drove its success among orchardists and the produce industry. Braeburn is a modern and delicious apple that paved the way for todays favorites, such as Honeycrisp and Jonagold.
  • Exceptionally sweet with little to no tartness
  • Beautiful, large, red and orange streaked fruit
  • With its unusually lengthy shelf life, Braeburn stores longer than most apple varieties
  • Grows in size and gains sweetness quite rapidly right before harvesting
  • Most widely grown (and beloved) apple in New Zealand orchard country and among the top 5 in the United States

A:  If it is A full dwarf, then it shoudn't get to 10 feet, but pruning is part of the story too.

Q:Is the Dwarf Braeburn self pollinating?

      Answer This Question

A:  Supposedly. I can't speak for planting it from a bare root instead of a root ball. I would prefer a full sized Braeburn rather than a dwarf variety.

A:  I am no expert on that, but the tree description said so, and there are numerous apple trees in my neighborhood to provide pollen, and the honeybee population is still healthy here.

The tree arrived as scheduled bareroot with no foliage and within 4 weeks the tree is thriving with foliage sprouting and even has flower buds which I did not expect to occur this year. This is the third dwarf apple tree I have purchased through online orchards and I have been very pleased.
