Product Overview

The adaptability and bursting flavor of Fuji have made it 1 of the most beloved apple varieties, thriving in climates ranging from Minnesota to Florida. Fuji is 1 of the best fresh-eating apples because the fruit gains the sweet flavor long before they reach peak ripeness. This means that Fuji apples have a much longer harvesting season than other comparable apple cultivars. The Fuji apple tree is a very heavy producer that is ready to be completely harvested typically by the middle of October, with the ripe fruit being quite large and red streaked with yellow and orange.
  • Fuji apples have a much longer harvesting season than other comparable apple cultivars
  • Fuji trees are remarkably adaptable, making them a great choice for both cold and warmer climates
  • Fuji apples are famous worldwide for their excellent flavor whether they are baked or eaten fresh
  • Fuji is a very heavy producer
  • Large fruit is a beautiful red streaked with yellow and orange

Not a good sign that no leaves are appearing in over a month. May need to add starter fertilizer for fruit trees. Water frequently as well since tree may have transplant shock or tree maybe in dormant stage already. Good luck.

do anybody at online orchards ever reply???

We ordered Fuji and what arrived is labeled "Honeycrisp." We immediately potted them in moist soil in a pot. After several weeks, only one has started growing and that from below the graft. We should receive replacement.

Is there any guarantee on the life of the tree? I bought 2 and one is not living.

Can this tree produce in Central Florida (zone 9)?

Asked by Daddio9 July 6, 2020

Answer

Yes, most dwarf fuji trees do well in zone 6-9. If you are in a tad higher zone portion on nine and receive less than <900 chill hours per year , in the winter, you could have no fruit later on

My dwarf Fuji apple tree arrived yesterday and was planted today. I was very impressed with the size of the tree which was 34" tall from the top of its container, with bunches of leaves already formed (see photo). The roots were packaged in moist shavings and a plastic container, and then thoroughly wrapped in plastic to preserve moisture. The shipping box was 4' x 4" x 4" which was perfectly sized for the plant and protected it well. The root system was a surprise and a bit of a disappointment. The roots were pretty minimal and not at all as advertised. However, I remain optimistic as the rest of the plant looks so good. Two days after planting, the tree looks great.

Overall, VERY happy! Online Orchards bare root Dwarf Fuji (1), Honeycrisp (1), and Blenheim Apricot (2) trees are excellent starters for our little orchard. Online Orchards prepared the four in moist sawdust, protected hard plastic, and wrap, then shipped right away. Excellent enclosed and online directions for initial water soak, digging and prepping the planting hole and soil. We put them each in 5 gallon Home Depot buckets with water for 6 hours, dug 3-4 foot diameter holes, then mixed in some garden top soil (not much) because of our predominantly clay ground. We watered twice a day for a week, then once a day for the next three weeks (to date) and will continue for another 4 - 6 weeks. Three of the trees showed new leaves within 10 days (both apples and one Blenheim), and the last Blenheim (which had the least root fibers on arrival) just showed new leaf-buds at 3 weeks. Be patient - up to a point of about a month, I'd guess. Here in NW Olympic Peninsula, deer are constantly roaming through, so netting a perimeter 6 ft high is working great.

I bought these trees about 2 weeks ago and arrived in a week, I like this fuji apple tree so much, it is cheaper than the other sources, and mostly, it came with good condition, has new buds on the tree, and within a week, I saw new buds growing into big leaves and fresh new buds coming out.

This is a replacement bare root because the first one did not grow. This bare root has begun to grow at the soil level, well below the graft. Very disappointing! I will be requesting a refund and shop for dwarf bare roots from another provider. On a side note, the first bare root that didn't grow arrived without any identification so when I needed to replace it, they had to replace both the roots that were originally purchased. These two roots arrived identified with tags on the roots.

Tree delivered as promised. Received the dormant tree freshly wrapped in hay, followed the directions how to plant it in its permanent site and monitored it for 2 weeks. Fuji apple tree has now been growing leaves and adapting to its new environment. I'm optimistic it will survive trough fall and winter and start growing next spring. So far really happy with the decision to buy it from Online Orchards through HD.

I bought a Fuji and Honeycrisp from this company. I planted and watered both per the instructions. The Fuji briefly had some small green growth on it and it disappeared quickly. The Honeycrisp has green and is still alive. I have reached out to the Online Orchards company directly however they have not replied to any emails.
