not as advertised
It states the height being 19 plus inches, if you want to have the light shade in the upright position; not very practical!

Slimline Task Lamp
This lamp is an eye saver. I use one near my computer and another as a nightstand lamp. Terrific in both places. Gives a lot of light and no glare.

The light is good
The lamp is ok. I like the small footprint. The reach is not long enough for what I need where I use it. I would love it if the base was a little heavier and the folding arm pieces were 4-6" longer. Fully extended forward with light level, it is about 16" from back of base to front of light, and the base has to be fully on a flat surface or it can tilt. Fully upright it's about 22" tall from tabletop to tip of light, with the exposed bulb shining forward.
I would recommend it for tabletop work.

requires velcro, but has wonderfully small footprint
After a few uses, the arm could no longer stay up on its own. I added tape and velcro, which works, but it requires fiddling every time the arm is repositioned. Another solvable problem is that if the light isn't used for a couple weeks, you have to hold the button several seconds, push it repeatedly, etc., but it does eventually turn on again, and responds dependably subsequently. So it has some serious flaws (I'd never give it as a gift), but I like the small footprint.

Love this light. It was a replacement for one I had purchased in 2014, and unfortunately replacements bulbs I bought through Amazon would not work even though they were the same number as the one I took out of the old lamp. I went online with Home Depot and found I could buy a brand new light for less than the replacement bulb on Amazon! Lots of light, flexible range, nice heavy base. I ordered the light and had it delivered to my local store. It came on time, and using the lockers for pick up was really simple.
