Coverage by PC Rotted Wood Repair

How much of a rotted 2x4 will this cover? I have about 2 feet.
Asked by: Leaky
one kit will not do that much area. Your may have to bite the bullet and make a 45 degree cut using composit or treated lumber.

Customer Reviews

Rotted Wood Repair Kit is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 56.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome stuff I had rotted wood at the bottom of my door frame on my back door. I followed the directions and this stuff is awesome. Once it hardens, it's tougher than the rest of the wood. It blended well. It was a little tough to sand which is a good thing so you don't shave too much off at once. I had to use 60 grit and then 120 grit at the end. It painted well; can't even notice unless I point out where I used it. Will definitely use this again on any rotted wood. It was good for me since I wasn't sure how to replace the doorframe myself. Highly recommend.

Directions were clear and there are videos on-line that show how the product is used. The product seems to do what the company claims. If you're going to stain the piece of wood on which you use either of these products, be aware that the wood/epoxy will be so hard that it will be impermeable to all but solid color stains, which are pretty much like paint. Sand with rough sandpaper (#100) to help solid stain or paint stick.

I only give it a 4 stars because of Home Depot service aspect, the product worked great, but it isn't available in-store and it took over a week to arrive! I think this is a product that should be immediately available to fix problems and finish projects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product I have a front entry door with side lights that had rotted underneath the glass of the side lights. It started rotting in 2007 & I thought I was going to have to replace the whole entry system until I found this product. I ordered two of these kits so that I would have enough materials. I followed the directions and got rid of as much rot as possible, then used this kit to essentially rebuild the bottom area under the glass that was so badly rotten. I let it cure overnight then sanded & repainted everything. I am amazed at how great it worked. It looks like a brand new entry system, very strong, durable and it saved me a ton of money in not having to replace everything. I def recommend this product! Looks awesome!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The PC Woody material is an epoxy. I expected... The PC Woody material is an epoxy. I expected the epoxy to dry/cure in a few hours for sanding, but it did not. In the fine print, they recommended a 24 hour cure. If you need to add a second layer or two it will take days to complete your project. The same with the PC Petrifier. I would not buy this product again.

I had to use several applications to build up rotted away wood. The product that stabilizes the rotted wood before building back up is also an excellent addition. Would highly recommend. Beats heck out of new door fram install.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I finally have used the product on a rotted window... I finally have used the product on a rotted window frame. At the front end, it appears to be a great product, which first stabilizers the rotted wood and then fill the empty spaces with epoxy. It will take to next spring to assess how well the product holds up, but I am very hopeful.
