The previous question about birds and squirrels was misunderstood. If this is on the tree to kill lantern bugs will a bird or squirrel get stuck or harmed on it if they accidentally come in contact with it.
The glue is not that strong.

Buy some cheap pool noodles and wrap the tape around the noodle. Insert a tomato stake into the soil and pop the noodle over the tomato stake.

I am desperate to find a method to kill latern flies recently discovered around my yard. Before purchasing a few of these traps, can you tell me how often each trap will need to be replaced in order to remain effective? Thanks

Wait till the tape is full or you cant stand looking at all the dead bugs, or if you are having company over. Also, after a lot of rain you need to change the tape. I am changing tapes about once a week.
